how to get that dank/loud smell?

Just as the title says I would like to know how do you guys get that loud/dank smell? You know when you have weed wrapped up in a bag, zip lock tied, and in a backpack but you still smell that shit wreaking havoc on your nostrils. That's the kind of smell I want. I am sure drying and curing is pretty important as well as strain? But what about nutrient doses. More nutes, more smell? Also does weed have a stronger smell when it's more stickyou or more on the dry side? The strains I have are blueberry og, sour diesel, green love potion, afghan kush, chemdog, and cr+. I know these ducked have the capability of producing that smell. From you guys experience what's the most EFFECTIVE way of bring those sweet skunky, funky, fruity, citrusey smell out.

Terpinator. If you can smell it real bad through a zip lock bag while its in someone back pack it might just be hot. Like if you leave a sack in a hot car then open your door and a gust of wind blows the scent it could wreak up a whole parking lot.

Lol what is a terpenator?

It will make your nugs way frosty, sticky, smelly. Even some of the leaves that typically wouldn't have trichomes can be frosty after you use terpinator, even the branches can have trichomes.

I've read good and bbad reviews about terpinator but will most likely be trying it on at least one plant this grow. The smell is usually genetic. And no, more nutes does not mean more smell,defdefinitely don't over do the nutes or it will affect taste in a negative way. Terpenes are created in the marijuana flower that create most of the complex smells and taste. So terpinator would be a good candidate to enhance the terpenes. But does it work? That's the real question

Oh, and I've grown bud that's so smelly that a gram in a ziploc smelled up the whole bar, grown with no additives at all. It's a genetic thing, some strains are just so smelly it's ridiculous.

From my experience the longer the cure the better the taste and the stronger the smell. I try to keep it simple. Works every time for me. But the products mentioned above may be worth giving a try.

Terpinator is said to be the only additive that does what it does the way it does it, bloombastic is something else. Another product to increase resin though is rock resinator, but that's a little different for smell go with Terpinator. You could use them both even, but Rock cost more. I read that rock will trick the plant into thinking its under disease attack so it goes into a defensive mode and starts producing lots of resin. A little off topic, but other good products I'm running are Dark Energy which is a source of L-amino's or left handed, left spinning amino acid's. Cannabis is a c3 plant that can only use the L type amino's. I'm planning to try Advanced Nutes Big Bud soon, probably my next grow and see it Big Bud works better than Dark Energy. The L-Amino's are supposed to have a chelate (ke-late) effect on nutrients so the plant can feed better, and this helps prevent nute lock out. Over all I think Terpinator is the way to go as far as smell.

I'd say it does work and it works pretty rapidly within the first week or so you will begin to notice a lot more trichomes all over the plant coming out in places you would otherwise never even see them. and the sites you usually would see trichomes get packed with a butt load more than you would have seen without running it. I really think that the uber potent aroma/smell is going to be more so a genetic thing, but he started that the cut's he has he knows is capable of that smell, so if this is true then Terpinator is suppose to be the way to go as far as bringing out those cuts genetic potential. Worst case scenario if Terpinator doesn't improve the smell of his cut's to the potency that is trying to be achieved, at least the buds will be way more frosty and covered in trichomes. If you really want to go for that smell get yourself some Skunk #1 and hit that with some Terpinator.

From the pic you attached I cant tell if you are running Co2 but that is another way to add more carbon to the flowers, which I think has some effect on the sugars/carbs, smell. And You should use a reflective material for those walls, not that black plastic. Pretty much all the things you do imo will all add up to the end result being better. I'd say get yourself some Mylar for those walls, run Co2 if its from a tank or exen Exhale Co2 bags, get a cut or beans for Skunk #1. run Terpinator, and if you can or already do get yourself a L-Amino supplement such as Dark Energy or Big Bud, to help chelate nutrients. But as far as supplements and EFFECTIVE, then you want Terpinator.

It seems terpinator is getting pretty good reviews here. May have to try it out my next grow.
Has anyone heard of or tried Snow Storm Ultra by Humboldt county nutrients? It's supposed to increase resin production as well.

I was going to let this thread keep going, but people are actually thinking of buying stuff now, so I'll step in.

If your strain doesn't naturally produce a lot of resin, it doesn't matter what supplement you use or how much it costs... you aren't getting buds that look like a High Times cover.

I use three things... PBP, CalMag, and molasses. That's it. And I use CFLs.



Stop buying into marketing campaigns and snake oil salesmen. Most of these supplements are $70 bottles of Potassium.

Get yourself a good pheno. Yes, it might take you 20 seeds and 2 grows to find your perfect cut. Guess what? That's growing.

Get a good strain with good genetics... learn to grow it properly... and you will get much better results than buying Terpinator or any other bottle of "I Wish" formulas.

TheYokel has a valid point that you need to have the genes and potential there to begin with, but if you know you already have a good cut that is capable of the desired traits such as the OP said he has cuts capable of the smell he wants. Genes alone isn't always going to do it either. TheYokel hasn't even tried Terpinator yet.
