How much water???

Hi there, i need to know how long to set my timers for and how many times a day for watering my plants. Rigt now they are about 12 days young. Right now im redirecting 4 hoses to a 4 piece dripper. Each hose has a dripper on it and each dripper dispenses 1.5 cups a minute. How long should I water my plants and how many times a day???

Im using 120 watts worth of CFL's on clamp lights. Im doing a hydro setup with some bcuzz cubes, with hydrocks. Temperature wise its about room temperature of my place which is about 70.

Dripping into hydroton can be done constantly, or at whatever interval you want. Experiment with your setup and you'll come up with what is best.

Remember to give the roots some dry time to soak up some oxygen as well.

my roots are always soaking in my reservoir - i think it is "bad" to allow your root system to dry out.

drippers are a pain in the ass except for auto watering soil plants.Should just go a simple flood table and save yaself a ton of trouble..

Depends on strain, humidity levels, temperature, growing medium and how close your light is to those plants

For example with hydroton you can water somewhat frequently and with some strains damn near constantly however other strains become over watered easily and then you would have to do your homework with that particular strain

Rockwool is different it holds onto water like a fat kid holds onto a candy bar. Its a water hog and all depending again on the strain youre growing... your going to have to figure out what the right watering schedule is for those plants.

I'm growing in lava rock currently and watering every 3.5 hours for 1/2 hour. my temps are around 80-85 and humidity is lower then what some people consider ideal. this particular strain loves it...in fact anything below 80 degrees and the growth drops slightly. This strain loves the heat, thrives in it and is also very easy to overwater one of the worst I've dealt with

So it takes some time to figure out what your plants will love just keep experimenting then you'll dial them in and there will be no doubt youre on the money by the plants response. There is no such thing as one size fits all with marijuana there are too many strains out there with genetics from different regions of the world.Some can handle more water some cant some love more heat some dont. Its trial and error...best of luck

my roots are also always in the water and ive never had any probs.. i also agree about not letting them dry out.

speaking of avatar switchers... panhead i loved your old avatar - but i love Harleys too so the new one is OK - but it doesn't make me crack a smile like your old one

thanks for alll your replies and help. Right now im feeding them twice a day for 5 minutes and that seems to be WAY to much. i have them in bcuzz cubes sitting in hydrocks. The drippers honestly dont driip, more like flow. They dispense 1.5 cups of water ever minute!!! Right now they are on day 16 and about 3" tall. They are drooping pretty bad right now and have cut off water until I can see how much and how long to water them.

can u use a nozzel at the end of the tube .....then u could control it ..... I have my nozzels set at about 2 drops per second 24/7

I'm going to have replace the nozzels because mine go into a tube and turn into 4 drippers. my pump is pretty powerful and my drippers dont have a nozzle to turn them faster or slower.

right now i think ive been overwatering. Its been going twice a day every 12 hrs for 4 minutes a watering. Right now they are damn near droopy as hell. The middle plant isn't droopy and its the youngest one but the 2 best ones are now getting to be the worst ones. Is my drippers pouring out to much? Like above its still pouring out 1.5 cups every minute. Should it be one feeding of 2 minutes every 24 hrs?
