how much perlite to mix with a 12" bucket?

i was woundering how much perlite i need to mix with my soil for a 12' by 12' pot?

thats up to you...you could use all perlite or all soil....i would say......use like a tub or something...and a cup of any kind...put a 2 inch layer of stright perlite on the bottom....then mix 1part perlite and 3 parts soil in the tub untill you have enough to fill your part...

it makes the soil airy and easy for the roots to go threw...the more you use the more often you will have to water...im sure you will hear many diffrent answers as its a matter of what the grower likes.

I used 50% soil, 50% perlite.

I mixed them in a different bucket first then just used the soil mix as needed.

so wat do you do mix the bucket with the first hafe with perlite then mix it with the soil till the bucket is full?

some say 1/3. I mix enough that it doesn't overpower the soil.

I add 40 to 50% perlite, mix however much in, grab a handful of soil and squeeze it, if you can easily break it up then the mix has enough perlite.
