Cree CXAs were going for 1.80 each. if you use quantum boards or generic chinese equivalent you could get PCB LEDs for under $1 a watt, probably 0.50 a watt ordering that many.

grandmaster level is in the process of switching to LEDs. he will be running an LED room vs an HPS room in his next season. check him out on youtube.

Mmm to sell? If the customer wants that much then I'm going to do my best to give him quality herb for the price.

I'll have to check him out. What are the differences between the cobs and say the 10watters?
I've talked to a couple of guys using strictly LEDs and they said you still use about the same amount of watts to achieve the penetration as a hps bulb. Dont know if they were serious or not. I've got some LEDs but only enough for experimenting and wasnt impressed. First set was 3 watts and the next 5 watts. Foot print only as big as the light itself for flower.
For veg led is all I run. It's really nice for that replaced all the t5.
I've been running Solis Tek ballasts and hortilux bulbs been working great for flower. Will those cobs grow as dense buds?

They must be talking about the led grow lights they sell in the hydro shops. "Quality" leds put out more light per watt which means better penetration. Then usually when you diy an led build you have the leds spread out to give an even foot print which gives you even MORE penetration. Light coming from a single source (1000w hps) does give you good penetration at all.
As dense? Try even denser. More light/par = more bud and denser bud.

Quality herb? The pic you posted of your "stadium setup" was janky at best. What makes you think you can pull off a large size grow?

1000umols per square meter if all other parameters are good, provides 1g of dried goods on average.

If this is the case, then you don't have time to run a 12 pound per month grow op.

    This thread makes no sense.

And ya... 40 hours of totally trimming time...all alone. Ive since trimmed the trimming time down a bit..hahahah

That was just fooling around with excess cuts I had this past summer. Didn't want to chunk em as my greenhouse was full. So I stuck em in their to see how they would do in summer heat with the air off.

This is how they reacted to temps over 110 with the lights on. Thought they would shut down but did not. Just didn't have as big of bud as I would have liked.

    Love these haters. Keep coming.

Well you shouldn't say anything since you got a link up begging for money. That tells me everything that I would ever want to know about you.

Have 4-1000 watt lights in wings. On the side is where I have soil, mites and other stuff stored. I can easily move them out and make room for more lights.

What do you want pics of? Cloning machines? Mother plants? Clones? Lol. Let's see your operation of 3lb a week so it can give me some ideas.

I raised AK for about 5 years and it was some nice yielding plants but molded very easily. One year it was great and the next nothing but mold. Depended on humidity and how much rain I got. Ended up dropping it because of the weather not cooperating with that strain.
