I would not top anymore than 20 percent of your plants cause it will cause to much stress will slow down growth a chlorophyll. And also make sure you top by pinching rather than cutting because it takes away on the stress. And one last thing. NEVER top within one month of flowering.!!!!!!!! It diffuses hormones and delays peak flowering
