How many bulbs

Quick question for ya'll,i am a first time grower using cfl bulbs,i currently have a 200w eco light(european manafactured)bulb my plants are just about to enter the flowering phase,i am growing in an xl homebox,height 1.2m,width 1.2 meters depth 1 m is this light sufficent the guy in our local shop doesn't have a clue but ssays this will provide more than adequate light any recommendations greatly appreciated!

I would put a few warm white CFLs. You want a lower K rating for flowering. It should say on the box.. The more light you have the bigger, better buds you get. That will probably be sufficient to flower, but the more the better. Whatever your budget allows, BUY! NO such thing as too much light lol. Hope this helps and keep us posted on how the flowering turn out!

Can you tell us a bit more about this eco-lite? ... I take it, that it's a cfl, but do you know what the color temperature is? If you are in the flowering stage then you want something in the 3500k (give or take)

And THERE IS SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH LIGHT....... even with cfl's... Though I agree, if you can squeeze a few more warm light cfls with out having heat problems, then by all means go for it... Heat will be your limit... as long as you can keep the heat down in that small box... use as many lights as you can.

Besides heat and electricty, can there really too much light? like harmful to the plant? I am more that willing to eat my words.

how many plants u got,r they clones, in a space of 80cm high by about 70cm deep and 100cm long i used 2 200 watt enviros and produced 3 oz net.

Well I doubt any of us cfl growers will get to that point... most of us will run into the heat barrier... but I guess there is a point were the plant starts defending itself from too much light by curling it's leaves upward in like taco.. if that makes any sense.


Like I said, I've never ran into that problem lol... So I don't know to much about it.

Nice, so i guess adding candles would be good for the plant?

(Back to main post) Adding CFLs right next to the sides of the plants will help with horizontal stretching to keep the plant squat. Am i correct?

Thanks man got another bulb today but my exhaust fan blew up so i'm afraid to put it in there now!!I'm growing lowrider 2 was all i could get easily,have thirty growing all toghether they are just starting to flower now

Thanks man,i dunno the ratings will have to look at the box later and will post them for you,lighting is really the thing i am struggling with at the moment,first time i've grown so get kinda freaked out that i'll burn them to death

I got thirthy they are only starting to flower now they are lowryder 2 so pretty small i guess

Just keep the temp below 90F (80-85 preferably) and the bulbs 1-3in from the tips of the plants and you'll be just fine! You should get a new fan soon... not just for heat but fresh air... you can get moldy buds if there's no air circulation and plants need CO2.

Where did u get the seeds?

Yeah it will take a week or more to replace it,a mate got them in holland and gave them to me,he was gonna grow them but gave them to me instead

make some c02, yeast and sugar, i have no ventilation, helps lots.
