how long to run hydro system???24/7??

hey watsup guys I have an 8 5 gallon bucket setup dwc new to hydro been growen In soil for years just wonderen how often should I keep my hydro goin I read some places that say 24/7 seems a little extreme I think I have 6 seedlings now in it jus under 2 weeks looken good 1 looks over watered iv been runnen 24/7 I was thinken of switchen to an hour n half on hour off timer would this be ok? do any hydro growers with experience have input on hours to run for seedlings veg and flower please lemme know running it 24/7 seems extreme to me and ima hate my elec bill this month

Do you mean lights or pumps? Pumps 24/7, lights can be anywhere from 18/6 to 24/7.

You run your air pumps 24/7, all day all night. It's not expensive. Air pumps use very little electricity.

how high should the waterlevel be? the one plant looks over watered there only seedlings I have the water level right up to the nets and then as the roots grow threw I will lower it to right to the top of the roots is this right?

that's what i do. well i guess better put i let the water level go down to about an inch or two below the net pot from plants drinking/evap before i top off or replace nute solution. which i do weekly although thats probably overkill.and to reiterate the above posters air pumps run 24/7 no matter what.
