it usually takes me only about five days for a hydro flush to finish. A good way to test is cut off a leaf and taste the liquid if it tastes like clean water then you are done if you still taste nutrients in the leaf then wait a little longer.

Don't you get your best growth in your last week? How much of that 7 day flush is going to effect the final crop potential of my plant.. it keeps growing good and strong through a flush?

the last week I see a slowing in growth & swelling (weeks 6 & 7 are the peak weeks IMO)...
you do have a good point though.
a cool thing about hydro is if you choose to ustilize a flushing agent (Clearex, Final Phase, etc) you can push your plants as hard as you can and then flush w the agent per the label for 3 days and you should be okay.
the longer flush though better chance of having the plant utilize all the built up nutes.

when you are trying to fush your plants and you are in containers (not my specialty), you should aim for 25-50% runoff each time you water the plant.
"Why so much run off," you say? You want to make sure you get out all the nutrients stored in the soil/container so that the plant can use up all its stored energy so shit doesn't snap crackle pop in your bowl.

You'll almost want to flood it basically.
