how long is to long

how long is to long. I harvested 4 of the plants on may 22. tricones were 80-90% cloudy with some amber and a few clear so chopped, turned out great.
One of the plants I thought I would play with and only took the top colas. left all the mid buds to mature. have they ever grown, filled out and frosty. lots of tricones but no amber no matter how hard I look. All of the fan leaves have turned yellow and half have fallen off. only feeding water since may 20. day 70 since flipping 12/12. From seed Power Skunk.
How long can i go before i actually have gone to far and what will happen to it.

here are the pics from today
sorry for the poor pictures. still trying to figure that out.not sure why the pics turned out so small, the same pictures but better focus and bigger are on "club 600" post number 110516

a tutorial on close ups would be nice. have to search on a photography site i guess.

You'll never know till you try it. Let her go till everything looks amber. Try the smoke. Without a baseline it's hard to judge the levels.

the original top colas smoke real nice. hits hard to start then settles down, and still curing. they were 80% cloudy and 10% amber. these ones just seem to go cloudy with NO amber.

My last crop(2 strains) under a LED didn't go amber at all. Not even in the late 11 week. It's a energetic high. Buzzy at first settling into a higher end mellow. Stuff you smoke going fishing or swimming. Movies, busy get togethers.

Amber just means the THC is degrading to CBN so take them once they are mostly cloudy, hairs all gone red and the trichs all have nice balls sitting on top. I can't see wasting all that time and electricity waiting around for amber when the trichs will age and go amber after the plant is chopped. Better to wait those extra weeks with the bud curing in jars while new plants are growing in the vacated space.

I take the top third of the plants and let them go another 10 days or so to ripen up the lower buds before finishing them off too.

:peace:

What are you using to take your pics? Looks like you are uploading the thumbnails by accident. I use a 20mp digital pocket camera, Nikon CoolPix L32, then crop and resize the pics on my computer to 4" wide at 300ppi. Gives a nice sharp pic about half a megabyte in size.

Looks fantastic dude. I can't wait to see your next grow, given the results of your first.
