this all depends upon how they are kept. if they are kept in an airtight contanier in a dark, dry and cool place they last quite a while (6 months+). if they are kept in an airtight container in the freezer they can last much longer (a year or more). they break down as time goes on, so germination rates will decline.

If stored well they will still be viable for well over a year. I have popped beans that were about 5 years old or so and still had a respectable germ rate. Not anything to call Ripley’s Believe It Or Not over but still respectable. But if stored poorly I’d say a year max before the germ rate will drop significantly.
