How far away should i keep my..

How far away should i keep my 150 watt MH from the plants? Since it is obviously hotter then CFL's, right now it is about a foot and a half away from my plants but it doesnt seem to be getting to hot for the plants. Would anyoen suggest that i move it closer?

Well is it an air cooled hood? if so then ya you could move it closer. Are your plants old enough to get that kind of light? Me personaly i like to use fluros for a while. put your arm under the light and do a test where it gets hot point. I like to keep a thermometer near the top of the plants to be sure

No my plants are only about 5 days old so im going to wait justa little longer till i actually use the MH. But yes, its an air cooled hood and i have a fan on it for circulation which seems to keep the heat down.

It isnt too hot even near the light but im not sure how much heat the plants can handle without getting sunburnt?
