Leaving a cut stem in food coloring will make it turn the color that you put it in. But only kooks do that

Guise, just get some spray paint if you want purple buds that badly.

coloring is a phenotype. not all genetic offspring of a purple strain will show this characteristic. i have some GDP right now where some of the buds are purple and some are green. the color is the only real discernible difference. the purple buds are not any better than the green ones. if you have never seen this in person then it can be pretty cool to see a bag of purple nugs but when the novelty wears off it is not really that special. personally i prefer potency and strength over color.

i have read that to start turning purple you have too let the night time temp drop to around 15 16 dgrees c keeping the heat at the lower end of optimum temp 22 23 degrees during in the day cycle. any lower and the plants wont grow to there full potential so be carefull. or why not just buy a purble blue black strain and grow optimumly problem solved. by lowering the night time temps to induce colour change can also stress the plants.

does Purple Widow turn purple naturally even when kept 75-80F (day) and 70-75F (night). i have some PW seeds in the mail but have seen some beautiful purple bud pics but also some that are green.

and yeah i ordered it solely to try and grow some purple bubs, i have tangerine dream, super silver haze, super lemon haze, wonder woman, and pineapple express in the pack also to get my high quality smoke from.

along with 22 pages of NO PICs (other then the first post) about theories,ideas and peoples plans on how to make it smell better,taste better,without any actual input.

Follow the link. Fdd put harvested stems with bud on it in food coloring to see if it would change the tint of the buds the same way rose gardeners change the tint on roses. It was an expirement.

And I'm pretty sure fdd has ALOT of bud to expirement on. No biggie for a guy like him
