ANC. .. you think the white zigzags are a thick wrapper? I have always thought they were a very thin paper. I would like to check out a paper that was as wide as a zigzag but longer. I'm going to check out the ones you mentioned in your post. What the hell is a powdery paper?? Rizla and bamboo are good but i can't find then.wtf,,, I have to go back into work already. SHIT
zig zags are no where near as thick as bugler..

zags are pretty thin but by no means the thickest

my suggestion would be do the burn test on various papers....

Well crazy I ain't giving up my Bic for nobody. Never liked the way a Zippo made my weed taste but I sure can't taste butane. Sounds like just another funky way to get my cash.:D
I will check out bongoutlet.ca. I know I want a cheap glass pipe and a bong could be on the menu as well. Will also check out roor. Like a nice water pipe with nice fresh water. I made $5.00 once for drinking a tube full of old black bong water. It was NOT worth the fiver!
I need a vaporizer to test but I also want to try out a grinder. I have been using my fingers for years but everybody seem to like them. PS... Does the third comparment style I was looking at really gather kief or is that a gimic?
:-oThank you baby jesus that during these times of hard choices I have papers to fall back on. :leaf:
get a coffee grinder, you can grind the shit out of your bud and most of the keiff will stick to the walls. the 3 layer metal grinders are alright for keiff, try to get one thats easy to twist and grinds the bud good. illadelph grinders are pretty good, i think they're called space cases. theres also these things called keiff boxes, they look like cigar boxes but have 2 layers, 1 where you put the bud on top of the screen and the second layer collects the fine keiff. they can be pricey though.

as for bongoutlet.ca, they have many pipes and bongs that are great for their price, i also suggest buying one of their ash catchers as well if your looking for a really clean hit, i like the 11 arm tree perks myself. they also do sell those metal vaporizer pipes for only 40.00 which i may have to invest in, the magic flight box would also be a smart investment for somewhat stealth smoking. and 5.00 to drink bong water? you should go on fear factor hahaha.

So are you guys rolling cone shaped bones with filters or pricey glass pipes? Are you using bongs or vaporizing? I would love to try vaping whatever the hell it is. Are you using a grinder and why? . . Oh Yeah...If you vap sumpin are you left with a product that still looks like weed but has just been heated hot enough to burn off the good stuff?
I'm pretty "old school" and of the "pre filter" joint era, but I have to say, putting a filter in there DOES actually help. It gives you something better to grab onto, makes it tougher to soak the end with saliva or water condensed from the bud, and also makes it much easier to smoke the cig down to the end. It does make the bone a little harder to roll, but if you haven't tried it, you should give it a shot.

Apart from asthetics, I've never really understood why a cone shaped spliff is any better (or worse) than one shaped like a conventional cigarette. Can anyone explain this to me?

IMO, bongs are mostly for kids. They're good if you want to medicate FAST, but typically I just want to drink a beer or two, not slam down five shots!

In a nutshell, vaping just heats up the bud to create "vapor" instead of burning it to create smoke. The advantages are that the vapor is much less harsh on the throat and lungs, and contains fewer to no cancer-causing chemicals. Disadvantages are that vaporizers themselves can be expensive, can take a while to heat up, might not be portable, and in some cases don't provide the same kind of "high" that smoking does. Spent bud that's been vaped is kind of a dirty dark brown color, like its been roasted in a toaster. Assuming your vaporizer actually works, you shouldn't be able to get much out of it by smoking it, though some people do save the leftover stuff for cooking or making extracts.

Again, I'm from the "old school" of pre-grinder days, but they can help in a few ways. Main ones are that using a grinder is faster and easier than trying to mash the stuff up with your fingers or even decent scissors. It also makes the grind totally consistent which is hard to do if you're just using your fingers. Also, with a grinder you can literally pulverize the herb into a fine powder if you want to. That doesn't work well at all for joints, but its practically a necessity if you want to get the most out of a vaporizer.

As to my preferred burn? Well, its hard to beat the portability and controllability of a joint. For me a close second is a good WOOD (not glass not metal) pipe. Why wood? It doesn't get burning hot like metal, and it doesn't shatter into a million pieces if you drop it like glass. I like a bowl with a hinged lid that will keep your herb in, and stray stuff out, plus you can snap it shut to totally snuff the bowl if you want to take a break.

On that "incredibowl" thing, to me it just looks like an overhyped carbed bong minus the water.

First of all, it doesn't say "bong" on the package nor on your credit card statement. So short of seeing you open the package, how is anyone to know what's inside?

They might move to shut down major retailers, but the Federal gov't has bigger fish to fry than trying to chase down individuals buying bongs for home use.

How is your State or local gov't going to know what you've bought over the internet?

If they're watching you so closely as to be monitoring every single internet communication you have, scrutinizing all your credit card and other electronic financial transactions, and scanning all your mail, then I think you're pretty much already screwed!

agree with everything except the vaporizer part, one bowl gets me ripped. and i can sit with my bong for probably 20 minutes, joints burn through weed faster imo. just get a small bowl if you think you smoke too much out of a bong, any more than a .3 bowl youll probably be hitting cash for about 5 hits.
dont save the vapped shit though, its nasty and idk why people make tincture, edibles or bho with it. honestly, that would be the worst bho or tincture ever made.
and bongs also filter out some things if im not mistaken, it also makes smoke smoother like a vape. and ive hit the incredibowl, kind of like a pipe except smoother. its super easy to clear though, just not something id spend money on. and if you want a portable vape, they have many kinds. sneakavape or the vapbong are probably the most portable, they're about the size of a marker.

and i only roll joints with filters, gives them a better shape. and cones arent any better than a cigarette joint, just less paper and more weed. i guess people shoot for less paper though

We don't have head stores here that have much of anything in them.
I note that you're listed as from Boston.

There was a big headshop smack in the middle of Kenmore square called "Sugar Daddy's", and at least back in the day (this goes back 20 years) it was chock full of every kind of pipe, bong, paper, and accessory you could imagine. I haven't been there in many years, but checking online, it does appear to still be there. So they ought to have you covered.

Be prepared to negotiate. Even within Boston where everything is overpriced, their sticker prices are (or at least were) designed to suck money out of rich BU students and tourists. I know there are a few other places that stock stuff in the city, too.

Does the vapor from the vaporizer smell? I mean can I vape with no vapor trail?
It does smell, though far less than regular burning hemp and slightly different. Its sort of a burnt popcorn type smell.

To be clear, when I said vaporizers in some cases don't provide the same "kind" of high, I don't mean they won't get you ripped. In fact, the opposite can be true. . .you may be so expecting the harshness of smoke that your first pull of "smooth" vapor will knock you on your butt!

Apparently vaporizers can heat to different temperatures, and different cannabinoids get extracted in different proportions at different temperatures. So if you vape "cooler" you might not extract out all the same active ingredients that you might from smoking, and therefore the QUALITY of your high might be different. This is going to depend on which type of vaporizer you have, how you set it, how you use it, and what you stuff it with. Some medical users love vapes for this reason, because they can control ratios of THC and CBD by twisting the knob. But some people do get turned off vaporizers for this reason.

I wouldn't save the burned crap from a vaporizer either, but I was just answering the question. .

This is mostly a question of personal style/preference. Some will smoke a pinner, some will huff down a giant spliff. Some people will extinguish their joint or let it burn out, then relight it later.

Some like small bowls, some like big. Some will try to chug down a whole bowl in one hit; some will take small "gulps".

But bongs basically are designed to take big hits, that's sort of the whole point of them. One thing I don't like about bongs, is just that they're simply not very "stealthy". Again, personal preference.

Bongs may extract out some degree of active ingredients, but its not the same sort of selective extraction that can happen with precise temperature controlled vaporization.

yeah, i like the low vape temps when i feel ill or have a cough, not as potent but a bowl will last you and taste really smooth. you can really get a good taste of your weed too, i can somewhat tell the difference between my own organic bud and bud i find on the street. and theres always bubblers, not bongs but almost a bong pipe hybrid lol
and glass wands for your bong are also very good, i let mine get red hot then let it cool for about 5 seconds until its back to normal color, once you get it down it wont cherry the bud as much as you are burning it. theres also vape bowls now too, theyre like bowls with domes over the top that you can pull a flame through. havent tried one yet but im for sure looking into it.

and its not illegal to possess glass, most companies say they're paper weights or tobacco pipes. i dont think you having a warrant effects if you can smoke tobacco. if you call something a bong in a tobacco store, they usually kick you out. thats why they started using "water pipe", and they say they're STRICTLY for tobacco use as a cover up. bongs are illegal, by saying bong it is implied you use it for cannabis or other drugs.

Most smoking paraphernalia is just novelty value b/s, due to my being old school and also having access to any products I want smoking wise I stick to a pure hemp paper, with quintessential hemp roach book, and the herb and a jet flame lighter(no butane left),I have a bong and a vap and many other implements fortunately didnt pay for most of it,as its all just designed to take money from stoners with more cash than sense ;)

regardless of what the packaging says all it takes is one warrant

GAME OVER
It requires one warrant to do WHAT exactly?

Obtaining a warrant requires that probable cause be brought before a judge. How is that probable cause going to be developed?

State laws against water pipes vary greatly, but I think a "nargile" waterpipe intended to smoke TOBACCO is legal in every state. So long as you are over 18, you can have one LEGALLY shipped right to your door. Ordinary wood pipes are legal in every state too. So are cigarette papers. I think even "bongs" may still be legal in a few jurisdictions, at least under State law.

I am absolutely sure that in many jurisdictions these things fall into a grey zone. You can have a "waterpipe" (for tobacco or other legal herbs), but not a "bong" (for marijuana). What's the difference? Its entirely subjective, and up to the whim of whomever is enforcing/prosecuting that law at that time.

So this leads to the common and utterly ridiculous (though understandable) scenario where the headshop owner will sell you a "waterpipe" yet throw you the hell out of his store if you say the "b" word!

See my post above. "Bongs" are illegal in MA, yet there is gigantic fricking headshop openly selling 4 foot glass pieces on Commonwealth ave smack in the middle of downtown Boston 3 blocks from Fenway park, and its been there for 20 years. If you can walk into a headshop in your town and walk out with a gigantic glass bong in your hand, why is buying effectively the same thing on the internet problematic?

If you're really worried about being busted, then I think what you need to worry about is the actual cannabis, not the pipe! So far as I know, there isn't a jurisdiction in the USA where the penalty for possessing the actual drug isn't at least equal to, if not quite a bit greater than the one associated with possessing mere paraphernalia.

I use the front 1/4" of a cigarette tip with the smooth side faceing outwards... but yeah I hate joints without a handle.
