how can i increase resin production in my grow?

i grew some super skunk. i harvested the first plant and i did a crappy job drying it , it was still ok though. this time around i harvested another plant and i had hoped for a much more resinous end product. maybe super skunk just isnt a huge resin producer. its also not the strongest stuff.(15% thc) i now have violator kush going (21% or 22% thc) skunk x haze which im not sure. white ice which is in the 20s , g13 x haze which is also in the 20 range. i wanted to know if anyone knows of anyway to increase the resin production in a plant? im growing under a 600 watt hps. and a 400 watt hps. 2 spots. the only reason they arent in the same room is that i have another 8 or so supers that are about 20 or so days from harvest. as soon as those are harvested, i was thinking about putting both lights to total 1000watts in a 6 by 6 room i built this past couple weeks. is 1000hps too much for a 6 by 6 room? theres no heat issues , but i do have smell issues. theyve stunk my house out. i love the smell but i dont want it to get me in trouble. if someone thinks im smoking, oh well they just decriminalized in my home state. so i dont think anyone will bother calling the cops when you cant be arrested for smoking pot. but you never know right? anyway any advise on that resin production is greatly appreciated. thanks guys. and gals.....i also suck at drying it and im horrified im gonna ruin it all by not doing it right.

Well it is pretty easy to do. Give your plant Sugar daddy or Carbload. I give my plants 20ML per 5gallons of Water of Carbload during flowering.
Are you growing organic?? Plants concert and store energy into carbs to promote resin products. I dont know what you feed with as well I dont know how well the strains produce resin because I have not grown them before.. I have a strain right now that I just flowerd off and it produces so much resin that an auto trimmer has such as hard time.. Trimbox pro http://www.trimpro.ca/shredder-trimmer.htm The second one down. The cross was Grape God and Kocobonga. The Kocobonga is exclusive to B.C and avail on by Clone. Not entirly true, u can get seeds but it's rare because the gen was thought to be lost. Anways.. Try the carbload and see if it makes a difference for ya.! Good luck

Tobacco growers has dried & "cure" their shit for 200 years, check it out. If the smell takes priorty over good harvest, kill them & regroup. But from the sidelines, what I have seen is the big-ass rush to mature the plant. I do the opposite. 7 months invested, 2 more months is only 20% that gives the buds a big time chance to get bigger, denser. Form start of flowering, the plant, if given the chance, grow 1/3 the size bigger once it starts flowering. The sun does not automatically go from a 24/7 light to a 12/12. What I am saying is try to prolong the flowering time as LONG as possible, and the Lady will show you the best of her cookies. My hands turn black trimming the shit, seriously.

You can always go get a 10.0 or 20.0 UVB Bulb from the pet shop and put that in the room . The plant will naturally produce trichs to cover itself from the harmful rays. Its almost like Marijuana sunscreen.

I had been seeing that UVB term around but I never could figure out what it was about. That makes perfect sense now why somebody would get one. The concentrated ultraviolet rays harm the plant in a way so that it produces more trichs to protect its seeds. Which means when you shine an UVB light on her, she starts freaking out producing trichs being a good mom trying to protect her "babies" :weed: haha..BRILLIANT

im growing in promix i added some perlite and wormcastings to it. i feed them fox farm grow big and superthrive during veggatative and tiger bloom starting a week before flower. they are under a 600 hps and a 400hps. i figured maybe the dryer the room the more the plant needs to protect itself from drying out. also i didnt look for a big resin producer when i chose the seeds. i looked at a picture, and said i like that . ill try it. now after growing 2 of em and not being super happy about the end result im trying to see if theres things i can do to make em better. would giving a flowering plant a little nitro in the beggining 2 weeks of flower give it a good enough boost to keep it healthy dark green therefore taking longer to flower? i talked to a woman at fox farm and she said i should feed them grow big for the first 2 weeks of flowering to give em nitro so the leafs dont die off too soon. i think she meant that the plants use the leafs as food and they are like solar panels. so would the plant be better off having big green healthy fan leafs so the plant has energy to feed while it makes the buds? or is it best to let them die off and yellow. well yellow then die off. i know taste would be affected by dark green foliage late into flower because of clorophyl. but if your not in a rush to smoke or sell it wouldnt a good cure take care of the taste anyway?

k mart might carry em dont get a heat lamp tho u dont want the heat they got all different kinds of uvb lights..i suggest going to a local pet shop and buying a snake light that produces uvb light with no heat..and u can use one or two per plant

Well, so far we know that you've grown weed, and with a 1000w light, however, there's still a lot of ambiguity to be cleared up before you can get a clear answer to your question.

What method of growing are you using? (Soil, soilless, hydro: if hydro, what type of setup?)

What nutes do you use?

How often and how much of them do you use?

Do you use CO2?

As people have been mentioning, the addition of a UVB spectrum producing bulb can help. UVB basically causes the plant to increase trichome production in an attempt to shield itself from the UVB rays.

Also, you could consider adding an additional week to your flower cycle, but in complete darkness. No light, period.

i got a 600watt hps 3uvb and 3cfls for 5 plants 2 hydroponically grown and 3 soil grows "foxfarms" i started with just using the flora series nutes then used bud blood for a couple weeks and now im using the flora series with big buds advanced and mollasses also..i use the nutes once everyother watering sometimes two waterings in a row and i dont use c02

i have 2 spots, a 3 by 3 and a 6 by 6 with a 400 hps and a 600 hps respectivly. i am growing in 2 gallon bags, in a mix of PRO_MIX and wormcastings.
i feed them fox farm grow big three weeks from sprout at 1/3rd strength then work my way up, watering with superthrive one watering and then the fox farm nutes the next watering. i water every 3-5 days depending on the temp of the grow spots.
the temp is usualy about 65-70f i have fans blowing on all my plants to keep the gnatts from coming.
i have access to an endless supply of medical o2 and co2 but i didnt think co2 would help since the temp in my roooms never go above 78-80f .
i thought about cutting holes in a tube sticking it into the rootball and pumping 100% oxygen into the rootball. but i got scared id dry em out too fast and kill em.
i am growing violator kush (which has stunk my entire house out), g13 x haze, skunk x haze, super skunk , and white ice (which im bummed because someone told me they hated it.)

just a note. i do not use the rose food in the background of one of those pics on my maryjanes. only on the roses i grow for my girl

Ok, a few things here...

#1. (take this to heart) CO2 is money!
While plants do use O2, they thrive off of CO2. If you have unlimited access to CO2, you sir, are in business. I would suggest buying a regulation device that can measure the CO2 levels (ppm) and auto-regulate your CO2 tank. Keep the PPM high... like 10k ppm. This will also help to kill off bugs and pests in the room. But be careful, it can also kill you!

#2. Bulbs
Make sure you're using a Hortilux brand bulb. Also, take heed of the life cycles of the bulbs. You should replace them every other grow cycle. Just becuase they are putting off light doesn't mean they are still in their prime!

#3 Nutes
I haven't done soil in awhile, but it sounds like the trichome problem is within your nutrients. First off, make sure the water you are using [and the soil] is pH balanced. Then, you should really only be giving them nutrients every other watering.

However, the biggest problem I think (again, I haven't done soil in a long time) is the nutes, or in your case, a lack there of. My nute regiment consists of a base (veg & flower), CalMag (my base is deficient in magnesium), root stimulators, enzymes, carbs, live bacteria, and more. I have a special nutrient for nearly every aspect of the plant's needs. My advice would be to read up nutrients and how the plant utlizes them. Maybe check into potassium based products that promote larger buds too.

#4 Genetics
Maybe you are doing things right. There's always the chance your plants just have shit genetics. And if you got them as clones from some guy who said they were great, they may not be. As you continually clone plants, the newer generations (atleast in my opinion) seem to get weaker. Maybe try getting new strains or starting something from seed...

As for the UVB bulb, I picked one up at my local pet store. They look identical to a normal light bulb, except have a tint to them. They require a conventional lightbulb socket. However, be careful with these. While UVB rays promote trichome growth, they also break down THC. So I would suggest using them very lightly.
