Hey- I have a nice safe grow tent with a great stealthy spot to use it and am hoping to grow 4 to 5 plants, but still worried about if the police did stumble upon it. I do have a medical licence to posses pot

Your opinion please- if the police did stumble upon the grow- would I BE BUSTED or what are the chances the police just walk away ?

Looking for a great hobby and nice smoke, but am at the age where you don't want to loose the pension
Thanks for your time

5 plants = under the mandatory minimum sentencing 6 plant rule

You have a medical document and live off of pension.

Don't think twice. Just plant your trees and ease your pain

Five or less and you should be good. Mandatory minimums don't kick in until six plants, if you have a script, and all other conditions are in order then youre probably good. The biggest thing is keeping your mouth shut. Keep it to yourself.

Well yes and no.

If they say it was for trafficking and they weigh the plants and they weigh more then 3KG you could still get a mandatory. Also every thing on the plant is considered illegal stalk, leaves, roots and the pot/dirt.

Well the final decision is up to you. If you are growing in an apartment there are a few things you need to remember. Some times digital ballasts will knock out internet access in the building. The ballast create interference with the cable internet signal and knock it out when the ballast comes on. Not fun when it happens and the cable company wants to know why there's tons of noise on the line from your suite. Telling them you're "testing a new aquarium ballast" worked last time for a buddy of mine :P

Noise from a Vortex 6"+ like fan can get loud when night time comes so best to put up a blanket on the side of the tent that faces a wall to a different suite.

High humidity kills charcoal filter efficiency and sometimes you don't notice the smell but others could.

If this is in a house/condo put it in the basement and enjoy the fruits of your labour just get an oversized charcoal filter. You can vent back in the house instead of outside. The amount of humidity for one/two lights it wont make any difference in the house.

If you're looking for a timer don't use the Intermatic or other make Heady Duty timers. Try to get something like this http://www.superprohydroponics.eu/admin/upld-folder/CRL-1.jpg has had built in breaker and high heat shutoff switch. They should be around $170 CDN. I've used this one before but I've also used this one too http://growgps.com/products/mdt4/ which was pretty nice and lasted me like 4 years till I gave it to someone else.

If you can't get those timers check out the Gavita E ballasts which can be controlled by a timer module which will turn the ballasts on and off, control the amount of power output at start up time and dim/shut the lights off when it gets too hot in the room.

Not sure, not all digi ballasts will do it but you won't know till you spark one up lol. If your internet goes down then no go. I've only seen this with certain setups of internet but I
ve also seen it in a house with 600W Galaxy ballasts but that was like 6 years ago. Buddy had 6 and ever-time they came on the neighbours internet would go out. SHAW had to install extra filters on the pole and after that it was fine.

I know several people running digitals in apartments with no issues and when I ran mine next to my cable and adsl modems I never saw any problems even with an 8 year old lumatek and the ballast being liek 2 feet away from the modem and router.

From what I've heard about this in the past, it affects cable and not DSL. Do you have a bunch or split cable connections or a unused cable line near by?

Make sure your digital ballast are RF shielded....should say on the box. You get what you pay for.

Pitch the tent, build a proper room.

A/C, 4000 watts HPS vertical, Hydroponics...good times for sure!!

Doesn't matter since the bulb is also creating RF from the quartz filament vibrating at 30-50K mhz and the socket is exposed at the end. Only way to really rid of the RF is a Faraday cage around the ballasts and grow room.

Thats the first time I've heard that bulbs create RF noise...Even if they do, it cant be as much as the ballast.

The quarts filament vibrates as the same speed as the power output by the ballast. That's why Hortilux had issues with their bulbs and digital ballasts as they had a weak solder points at each end of the filament and it would vibrate then loose and the filament would fall off its mount. Then they called their bulbs "digital read" like its some new bulb design.

The internet going out doesn't always happen as I know people running lights in their apartments with no issues. Its some kind of weird set up that causes it.
