Maybe it's because knoxville Tennessee is such a progressive place, but a significant percent of the people in a gay bar here are straight.
no they are not. they are closet queens. knoxville is as cosmopolitan as mcdonald's is haute cuisine. i drove through once. didn't even stop for gas or was that little rock? forgive me , i'm old and my mind wanders.

especially for a non-gay straight men that seems to be hounded by gays everywhere he goes. No wonder he's always covered in semen and leaves a trail everywhere he goes. when is your wife going to figure it out? wait, let me guess: she's a non-gay, non-lipstick lesbian who is hounded by bull dykes everywhere she goes? you two have very interesting karma
his wife dropped his fat skinhead ass.

I've noticed an inverse relationship in gay men with respect to physical masculinity and the masculinity of their personality.
I haven't. They're all over the map. One problem is that the physically masculine gay guys are way more likely to be closeted or especially discreet about their sexuality. A lot of them don't get clocked by straight people.

I'm a physically masculine guy and am assumed straight all the time. There are a lot of us.

I lived in a very large city. Lotsa gay folk. When a guy is uncomfortable with gays they often hit on him to get a rise. Kinda like trolling. Also, seen gay guys hit on a straight guy cause he was attractive in hope the guy might slide down the kinsey scale a bit. How could you blame them? I've introduced myself to women in the hopes of getting there number knowing the odds were slim.

we are all human (mostly; cept the rednecks). the sooner everyone is ok with that the better off we will be
You got it. Gay men hit on straight men because they score. The number of guys willing to do gay stuff would probably startle a lot of guys who are totally straight and repulsed by the idea. Don't blame the gay guy for hitting on you, blame your straight friends for making them think they can score you.

You know so much about it, since you might have driven through it once.

Knoxville has an opera company, a Symphony, one very famous theater that regularly hosts productions by Broadway companies. A major university. One great museum and a world class zoo. This is a non exhaustive list.

It's not new york, or even atlanta... but for an under 200k city it has a lot going on.

and we have a great gay bar with a vibrant gay community.

We're just not insane.

It doesn't matter what all of you punk Republicans think. Gay people will be able to get married in all fifty states PERIOD! We beat the conservatives when it came to interracial marriage, civil rights for racial minorities and rights for women. We'll beat you ugly punks on this too.

We'll get a gay president too, and he'll sodomize his gay husband in the white house. Or if female she will scissor her girlfriend in the oval office.

Just give up. We are right and you are wrong.

You know what i always find so frightening/fascinating about the US of A? The 'slavery' thing: it has hounded your society for 350 years. It's like a dog with a tic it can't scratch. I just hope it doesn't go mad and need to be put down.

Yep. Slavery has been a dark stain upon this country's soul since it began. Much of the country was built upon the labor of the blacks who were exploited, some by the founding fathers, then their descendants were treated like garbage by ignorant pieces of trash. The very foundation of this country, manifest destiny, was and is exploitative. Now the corporations are turning us all into slaves as the American empire and its toxic brand of corporate capitalism enters its end phase.

God* help us all.

Let me first say that there are no rights I oppose for homosexual couples, including adoption or artificial birth stuff.

but secondly I would say that I don't think any of us will be alive the day a Mr. President has a first gentlemen.

But I can assure you we've had gay president. Lincoln very often spent the night with a man, and lived with a bloke for a long time.

Slavery was around for centuries before America became a country. It still exists today

So you are telling us you are a gay, but celibate, Knoxville racist. Or, are Black gay men OK...if they are gay?

So, that's why you go to a gay bar on Halloween....stag?
