Home Made Aeroponics, questions on times...

Ok, so I'm starting my home made aeroponic's system up, but I have questions.

1. During both cycles (vege & flower), does the system need to mist during light & darkness? Or just during the light cycle?

2. I was goina set up my timer to mist for 15 mins, off for 45, so basically it would be on for 15 mins of the beginning of the hour. Is this adequate or should it be more/less?

3. As the plants get bigger, do i need to tie string to them from a bar or the ceiling to help support the weight?

I run 1 min on and 5 min off.

I run mine 10 on 30 off

I do run the spray jets on the timer even at night.
