Welcome to RIU!

This is a great place to learn all about cannabis. Try to take things slow and read up on all the stickies. We have a search bar and most things can be found by using it. If you can't find what you're looking for try to use google first. It will most likely bring you right back here. Some times new members get found upon for asking a question that has been asked a million and one times before. So try not to be that guy.

Also, have a sense of humor and don't take things too seriously around here. I hope this didn't come off as rude.I'm just giving ya tips on how to have a more enjoyable experience here. If you're not into fighting or bickering then stay out of the politics section as well as toke and talk. Those guys can be real jerks!

I don't view anything in your post as being "rude". I would like to say thanks for taking value time out of your day to even reply/offering some helpful advice.

You’re going to want COBs, QBs, or CMH for lighting. You can go with HPS or MH, but I think most people would say that while HID has ruled the industry for decades, that these new technologies are rendering the old way obsolete. Your lighting is likely going to be your biggest expense, but it’s also going to be the main thing driving your yield, followed by pot size, medium, and nutrients. And, of course, the better your strain genetics, the better your product will generally be.

Learn about PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density.) Aim for a light that puts out 900-1200 PPFD. That’ll simplify everything for you. And stay away from Chinese LED panels.

I am going to have to dive into the lighting sections to read up on the pro/cons of each set of bulbs in terms cost and etc.

Thank you for giving me some early tips on lighting
