High all! Returning to Sin City after 10 yrs, mostly in the 510/707 areas. Disabled, on a pension, verifiable patient by any State's limits, got some ?s abt NVs application process. Sent my $50 in abt a week ago from what I gather here I may have a several week wait just for the packet. I have already ordered my extensive medical file in anticipation of the process and am wondering if it'll make things any faster and/or easier to use one of those "bring your own medical records" services I see advertised for around $50? Or given my condition(s), should I just submit my records myself? Also, I read where you have to send in prints and they do a background check. What, if any, are the criminally disqualifying factors? Although I think it was expunged as per agreement (it doesn't show up on internet records searches and such) I have a class d (drug) conviction in Clark county from back in 1998. Can this effect my qualification even w/ a clean record b4 and after and my being in poor health? Also it says the DMV issues the ID; is this a whole different card in addition to one's existing state ID/DL? Thanks for any & all help. Peace

Not sure about the answers to most of your questions, but yes, the card is different than your standard state ID/DL. It looks nearly identical except it says "medical marijuana patient" in the blue bar that goes across the middle of the card. It's not a replacement for your driver's license. You'll need to carry both with you. They also take an updated picture of you for your new card.

Nevada has about the most F'd up MMJ system and it will cost you a lot more money here. $50 for the packet, $150 for registration, what ever your doctors visit cost is, then a charge for the card for $12 at the DMV. Any type drug charge is nothing but a reason for them to deny you here, they are dicks. And do not be surprised if the cops still arrest you here. Paraphenalia is illegal still as well so no pipes, bongs and all that. This is first hand experience by the way, not some friend of a friend shit. The cops got called because a snitch smelled some pot, they came, checked mmj cards, took all our pipes n what not, fined my sister and that is still not over yet. Fuck Nevada MMJ program, it is a joke.

Welcome back weezy.
If you can get your doc's rec here in town (bout $80 I think), then you can take that to the dispensary and get your dope while you wait for the state to approve you. Otherwise you'll be waiting 3-6 months to get your state issued card. And bringing your won medical records doesn't make the state process any faster ,but it does make the doctor's rec. cheaper. The doctors usually charge a fee ($50 I think!) to get your medical records if you don't bring them. I live in town too. PM me if you need help with anything.
