Hi All,

I guess this will be the start of my Hi-Fi Audio Cabinet Grow. My first indoor grow ever. Silly grow actually from a bagseed. However, i have backup seeds i got from the internet. Feminized white cookies!! So if this grow fails (a male), i would have wasted some $ on watts. But it will be a learning experience. Hope you wise dudes here can check out my grow and give advice where needed.

Anyways, here's some stats of my grow:

Lighting: Combo LED and CFL (~190Watts @ the wall)
Soil + nutes: FF ocean, perlite, cal/mg, RO water (ph7), biothrive organics (bloom)
Seed Genetics: unknown (bagseed), unsexed
Cabinet: 21"wx32"hx24"d (interior), custom sound studio audio cabinet
Cooling: 4x120mm exhaust fan. speed control, Passive intake ports, 6" clip fan

Day 1 (Sept. 21) - An unexpected started. 1 of 2 bagseed that made it with perlite disc.

Day 2 - Solo Cup days - using a 12w flood led at this point. About 2-3" from the weed canopy

Day 3, 5, 6 (Sept. 26)

Day 9 (Sept 29 ) - Added grow light i bought from amazon. Ended up with a Marshydro reflector panel (108w draw at the wall @ full blast). The CFL bulb and LED flood removed. So only 108w, using both the Veg + Bloom mode.

Day 10, 11 (Oct 1) - Heat wave this week. Couldn't put her in the garage since temp would be 100+. Temp in cabinet would be really hot!!

Still in guest bathroom. Waiting for the weather to chill down and thinking about how to mount the light in cabinet.

Day 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 (Oct 9) - Getting the cabinet ready, gathering ideas to mount extra CFLs to boost wattage. Weather is still quite warm to move baby to cabinet.

IMG_1064.jpg

Day 20, Day 21, Day 22 (Oct 12) - Still Vegging 18/6

IMG_1068.jpg

Day 23, 24, 25 (Oct 15) - Weather has gotten cooler outside. Cabinet modification about done, just adding a few side rails to mount lights on. Power strip tied into all the lights (controlled by timer). 18/6 Veg light cycle.

Day 26, 27, 28 (Oct 18 ) - Move in day!

Transplanted my baby to a 5 gallon pot with FF ocean forest and perlite.

Cabinet is ready! Cabinet 21"wx32"hx24"d (interior) was meant to house pro audio equipment and rack mounted computers. There's already integrated 4 x 120mm exhaust fans connected to a voltage controller. Passive intake in the rear bottom of the cabinet. Cabinet is made from laminated gray MDF and also has sound proofing foam. 19" standard computer rack mount rails in front. Plexiglass window in front hinged door. As you can imagine this is a nice cabinet and perfect for a grow!

Decided to use the cheapest mods to mount my lights and accessories. Macgyver'ed some home depot stuff to get additional rails mounted on sides. Installed a pegboard to each interior sides. My idea here was to use dowel sticks to create a lattice.

Mounting the Marshydro Light - 4 eye hooks in interior ceiling of cabinet, 4 cheap home depot carabiners, 4 clip hooks supplied with light.

White canvas material from hydroponics store. 50cent USB fan from wally world.

1/4" dowel and Pegboard

108w (Mars panel) + 12w (Flood LED) = 120w at the wall

A few more cabinet views:

All lights plug into rack mount power strip. cheap USB fan. Sound foam really dampens the fan noise.

Pretty cool setup you got there.
You're right, that IS a great cab for growing.
MDF and insulation... great sound dampening, especially if you were to run Hydro.

I'll be watchin ! :weed:

Cool! Where'd you get that mini fan?
Got it at Walmart for 50 cents. It was working great for a few days, but it seized up and stop spinning unless i put more voltage to it. They have higher quality fans of the same type from amazon. Great little fan, was able to move quite of bit of air and didn't take up any floor space. I might have to look at getting a higher quality version soon. I currently have a 6" clip fan which i am laying on the ground and pointing it upwards.

Day 29 (Oct. 19 ) - Topped off the plant at about the 4-5 node. Also replanted her deeper into the pot. Maybe got an extra 2" of height back. Next time, i will plant it much deeper.

Day 30 (Oct. 20) - Added more lights to the cabinet. Bought some cheap clamp lights from home depot. CFL bulbs added are: 2x 23w (6500k) + 1x 26w (5600k). Total watts at the wall now at 120w + 23w + 23w + 26w = ~192w Planning to switch out bulbs to 42w 2700k for bloom. BTW, if you live on the west coast, they have these japanese dollar stores called "Daiso" , They carry 42w 2700k CFL bulbs for 50cents each!! i picked up 5, probably will go back and pick up more.

Day 31 (Oct. 21) - The replant and topping went well. The plant seems happy and is fully alert after a few hours with the lights blasting. You can see all the leaves standing up in the last few pics. If you look closely, you will see the new branches starting to come out right before where it was topped.

Day 32 (Oct. 22 ) - The new growth from the topping is growing! Yay! You can clearly see that in the pic. Haven't watered baby in about 2.5 days and the top soil is drying out. Been reading that it's ok and actually good for the plant to be starved of water for a bit. Makes their roots reach for the deep moisture. Many newbie are too anxious to water their plants everyday. Don't do it!! I will probably do a good watering tonight, RO water (ph7) with Cal/Mg (5ml/gallon).

My little USB Fan broke the other night. It was a great little fan, but it was just too cheaply made. Bought a 6" clip fan.

Also the weather is starting to heat up again. Day time temps in the cabinet over 90 degree. Seems to ok for now.
