where should i make a hole on solo cup for 1/4 verm 3/4 perlite

On the bottom. And make more than one. Red hot paper clip or whatever.

I used to use a cheap soldering iron, makes quick work of it and the correct size holes.

torch and an old screwdriver....

I do mine 1.5 inches from bottom. Heat up a Phillips head screwdriver and make a nice neat hole. Works great.
