Awesome....I read about the first 25 pages of the 1st Hempy Collective and realized the thread was closed! Alright I think I got this down and am going to try to grow 3 Lowryder #2s (2 in soil and 1 in Hempy bucket). I already bought the soil and have everything going, I will start a grow journal and post pics sometime next week. very excited. I might start another 2 Big Buds the next week if all goes well (1 in soil 1 in Hempy Bucket). So I am going to put my seed (once germ'd in a Jiffy Pot and throw it into my pot full of Perlite. My only questions are:

(1) If I want my final pot to be 2g is it all right just to throw the Jiffy Pot in there or would it be too much hassle to water everyday until the roots hit the reservoir? (So start in something smaller, like a styro cup that I can cut later and place in the 2g)?
(2) What happens when the roots do reach the reservoir? How will I know when they have reached that far?

That's it (for now). I really apprieciate all the work you put in Az and it helped me make the choice to start this. If all goes well my 2nd grow will be 100% Hempy...

1. You can go either way. I upgrade 2x

2. You will see an explosion of new growth at the top.

Hey Az, good job restarting this, sucks that it was closed, but was so long and tedious is better to have a new one anyway. especially with you re-iterating the first 70 pages, yet you STILL get silly questions lol.. gotta love RIU

anyway, i thought i'd throw this in, for the LUCAS FORMULA, if you're vegging under fluros then it's 5-10ml respectively, but if your vegging under HID, it's ALWAYS 8-16ml per GAL..

ill post my newest hempy pics in a few weeks.. i just finished a whole hempy grow.. didnt go well, but because i overfed a bit, and had some unwanted men in my clique... only flowered 2 bushes totalling 5.5oz's dry though.. not terrible.. but this one will be much better guaranteed!

Hempy and lucas work great together. The only main problem you have to watch for is under oxygenation. If you choose to run the organic route then you should add beneficials and enzymes. If not .5ml of 10% h2o2 at every watering will take care of any problems plus increase your available oxygen. I would alternate between 4ml---8ml lucas--------and 8ml-16ml lucas for all of your flowering. 5ml of cal/mag plus as well. Ph to 6.3. I Have had to add more nitrogen due to fast plant growth. Don't be afraid to add nitrogen in flowering---keep You plants nice and green to at least the start of your flush. Supernatural has a good product that doesn't raise your ppm's as much as others----"green stay"...2% nitrogen plus---magnesium----calcium----iron----sulphur. If you start to loose green or see light yellow feed at 5ml/gal in addition to your lucas and cal/mag....Note: If your rocking organic Roots excel is a great product to help protect the roots.
Remember----You can't over-water hempy but you can under-oxygenate. If you see eagle clawing then its time to add the h2o2 and flush...

Nice plants Tommy .

Hey I have a question for you hempy experts I transfered some hempy in party cups into their final 2.5 gallon pots, and put them into flower room. How long do they take to reach resevoir/ recover in their new pots?

Ps : they were vegged in 16 oz party cup for about 5 weeks total from seed and then transplanted them to 2.5 gallon hempy's.

they should reach the bottom of the bucket within a couple to a few days. just give them a nice watering once a day i'm sure its big enough to survive anyways

Hey guys I need some advice.
On December 28 I transplanted some vegging plants from party cups into their final 2.5 gallon pots and placed them in the flowering chamber but today January 6 I don't notice any major growth.
I understand theirs shock involved or what not but how long before they pick up? I took my time, was very careful and used very little superthrive to peform the transplant btw.
I know i asked this before but I'm worried I'm loosing them any advice be recognized with + rep

Ps: I been watering them everyday, when should I start feeding them again?
I know I read 2 weeks somewhere but I
not sure.
Please help

I usually start feeding a week after transplant. You should be seeing some new growth at the top but it will not explode until the roots hit the res and you should start feeding again before that.

I'm sold on hempys, however I want to grow organic. Can anyone point me to one or more organic hempy grow journals or places to go for help with organic hempy buckets?

Hello all,

Nice to see more Hempy grows on this site! I'll be starting a second Hempy grow this month ... three 5-gal. containers, modified Lucas formula, Arijan's Haze #3 clones under 18 30-watt CFL's. I tried Miracle Grow perlite at the start of the last grow & pH was terribly thrown off by that crap. I had to replace all the MG perlite with non-nute bearing chunky perlite from our local hydro store. Lesson? - don't use MG perlite!

Also, this time I'll be trying FoxFarm hydro nutes in a faux-Lucas manner. The NPK percentages of a 1 to 1 mix of Grow Big Hydro & Tiger Bloom closely equates to the original "light" Lucas formula numbers of "5-10-9". F.F. Grow Big hydro is "3-2-6" & Tiger Bloom is "2-8-4". Using a teaspoon each per gallon of H2O gives you "5-10-10". That's very close. One nice thing about this version of the Lucas formula is that you use the two bottles of nutrients equally. When using the Flora series of nutes, you end up using twice as much "Bloom" nutes as "Micro" nutes. Can anyone out there think of a good reason not to try this FoxFarm nutrient approach?

By the way, a lot of folks around this & other sites keep asking about low-odor strains for stealthier growing. The Greenhouse Seed Company's Arijan's Haze #3 is the least smelly flowering plant I've ever seen (or smelled). Sure, Arijan is just a jerky blowhard of a figurehead but his (or Franco's) Haze #3 is a superb 80% Sativa strain. Short & bushy for a sativa & is as close to "no odor" as it gets.

I have seen some really chunky perlite recently. Is this better for the hempy method or is a the smaller size prefered?

Anyone have any info on organic hempys? I would love to go organic but I am concerned of ending up with a stagnant pool of organic sludge at the bottom of the pots. Any advice on this?
