the trichomes on my leaves are mainly amber and the ones on my buds arent. should i wait till the ones on the buds are amber or chop it now?

ive really never heard this one before. i will have to do more inspections of my leaves to see this. anyway my answer would be; what do you plan on smoking? leaves or buds
