18 gauge solid core thermostat wire, two strand.

Are the holders you're using solderless? That's the route I went with, I can't recommend what solder to use.

Using passive cooling? I don't see fans on the list.
Taps/bits/oil if you don't have already..

Yes solder-less. Passive I do have fan in case I need one. Yes I do need to buy a bit, tap and screw. What size?

this tap set works for me and their cheap. 3 pack gives a couple extra in case you break one learning. Others may recommend a different style though

Sounds like a lot but in the future you'll have everything you need.

solder station...i recommend the wes51 but the lower priced separate power supply one should be enough.I'd avoid the all in ones..

solder. thinner wire is generally easier for small parts.

Not even judging your skills. I built custom electric guitars as well as doing repairs and setups etc. I also was a machinist in a prior life and have to warn people about tapping holes. Here is a little piece on doing that.If a bit is a used one, even if if not depending on how it is drilled (by hand or in a drill press locked down) it will cut oversize. The loads on these screws ain't diddly so I suggest using the correct size bit but drill a piece of steel CORRECTLY at the right speed and with oil before drilling your heat sink. It will dull it enough so that tapping the hole will not break the tap. There will be way more than enough thread on the plate to hold these.

In electrical instruments I use the smallest diameter solder to have to flow and just keep feeding it. On guitar pots or any other electronic connection.
