Need a bit of advice, I have two massive bags of organic soil which I used around 18months ago it was plagron light mix amended with kelp, oyster shell, ash, lime ewc now I’m going to be starting some autos outdoors in my greenhouse and not sure if could get away with not having to amend it again and cook it however with the time that has passed I’m pretty sure I’ll have to add all the ingredients back in just want to know what people thoughts are.

Thanks

if the soil is in good condition (hasn't sat wet in a bag for 18 months and smells like S*%!) i'd say that you're gonna want to amend it with some kind of all purpose organic fert being that it's a light mix to begin with (if you only want to buy one or two things, all purpose is the easy route). you'll want to mix it up and let it sit for a couple weeks.

No it’s bone dry, I figured I’d have to amend it, I already have the ingredients I used last time so I could mix that up again possibly what do you think ?

you'll want a more complete fertilizer than those few ingredients that you listed. they do not make up a complete fertilizer and its likely that most of what was in the mix you have has been used up. add about 2 cups of all purpose mix per cubic foot of soil and you should be fine. let is rest for a few weeks after mixing and wetting.

I use Dr Earth Homegrown vegetable fertilizer for re-amending used soil..
