I have a MW HLG 185H C700B (dimming version), i run 8 CXB3590, can i run 4 of them instead of 8 without blowing them up cause the driver has an output voltage of 286v ?

Driver will work for 143 volts to 286 volts So it will be really close because 4 x 36 volts is 144 volts. They won't blow up , but driver protection could cause them to not light up.

they don't use 36v at 700mA but something like 35v, so the driver wont light them up ? i should power 5 instead right ?

many thanks

Yeah 5 would be the safe bet but it also wouldn't surprise me if that driver could run 4 of them. You could bench test 4 of them see if they stay lit. my guess is they should start up fine since the voltage will be higher till they warm up. So it is just a question of will they stay lit.
