I heard if you keep weed in the butter for 12 hours its more potent. Is this also true for coconut oil. Also is one cup of coconut oil enough for a half oz of weed.

Please decarb your cannabis prior to making butter/oil. 240F for 40 minutes is the time I use. I don't know how long you should process your oil/cannabis mix for the most potency, but I just read a thread here that recommended 12 hours at 190F. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. .

Yeah, your decarb numbers are about right, the same that I use. Also because I don't ingest but use as a cream I mix in 1/2 cup of beeswax so it won't be runny when I apply it. I only cook my rub about an hour though below the boiling piont.

I decarb after I make my oil. 245°F for 25 minutes or less. You can watch the out-gassing of the CO2 (decarb), stir with a metal probe occasionally as the bubbling winds down. Many materials are partially decarbed, and I like to be able to control the outcome. Also I've extracted with coconut oil as many as eleven oz/lb of oil. trying to get a decent dose in a single 0 capsule. I run the crockpot for six hours after it gets hot.

i like to decarb at ~170°f based on studies ive read
imo
as far as dissolution rates. when dissolving hash oil into warmed (melted) coconut oil.. it takes minutes not hrs
trichs for example with the much larger surface area than a slab/chunk/drops of hash oil dissolve pretty quick
