Help with 100'x50' Cob Led Light setup

If you try to diy that many lights it will be a year before your growing under them lol

Really? I have a fusion sulphur lamp that outperforms that fixture. And it is circa ~2001.

But yes, the labor would kill you as well.

You could take that 80-100k and use it to fund a local DIY startup. They can build your lights and you can show how their product performs. Win-win.

What kind of space is it? Do you have any other requirements or limitations within that space?

FYI, if you are actually serious about doing this and want to make sure that you can get a return on your money, you should check out the various modular offerings based on cargo containers. A lot of those companies provide financing, have incentives, government rebates, etc, already figured out and if you need to, you can sell the units if something happens. There are quite a few commercial operators using these modular systems, you can put them pretty much anywhere, outside, in warehouses, etc. They stack too.

If you want to get really bleeding edge, you should also look into vertical growing.

I would suggest you hook up with Growmau, he actually just posted a video where is is rebuilding a growers room for him, he has all the knowledge you will ever need, I have pm'd you his email details

Expect to have 20% for utility space and factor in another 5-10% loss, so roughly 4k ft2. You will want lots of room to work; don't try and jam pack all of the space or you will curse yourself later.

Using 5x5 plots, you are looking at 160, using 1k HPS/5x5 so at least 160kw for power. Going led for the same potential is roughly 50% more efficient so ~80kw. For general operations of the facility add in another 25% so an even 100kw for a 5k ft2 operation. Commercial power rates are significantly less than consumer but you can do the math for what it is in your area.

You could do 1 plant per 5x5 and try to get something like this:

This is what I was thinking exactly haha. 5x5 for each plant so good to see Im on the right track. So my lights it sounds like I over estimated so thats a goood thing so it lowers cost.

But do get real professional help, not from the hobbyists here. They just don't have the background and have limited knowledge solely based upon what they have read and experienced which is completely different than a commercial operation.

Plus look at the bickering back and forth between them. Do you want to be dealing with people who are like that? Probably not.

You want to spend all of your energy and focus on getting your business up and going, not worrying about some shady vendor who spends most of his time posting youtube videos and arguing on forums with random internet people.

And I say that because I don't like to see people lose out when it can be avoided. Ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure.

Yeah just like this.just cut a hole in your roof and grow huge outdoor plants lmao.why did you post someone elses outdoor crop here dude? And i hope your not suggesting you have better advise than greengenes and/or growmau5 ? So you want him to hire some neighborhood kids to assemble grow lights or would you recommend he use mars panels? Diy on a operation that size will put him into the middle of next year.wait he could use college students to help build it all,they could do study papers on the whole process even haha.
Look around the grow room design section and look around on instagram for jungleboyz if you really want to see how larger ops are set up. @PhotonFUD do you even grow?
