umm how old is it until you can determine the sex of the plant?

You need to induce flowering to determine sex. The exeptions to this will be when a plant is an autoflowering strain, or when a plant reaches full maturity, it will sometimes start to show preflowers....these flowers will not bud up until flowering is induced (12hoursdark/12hourslight). Once you move the light schedule to 12/12 it could take upwards of 14-21 days to show sex.
