Hi guys

I flowered 4 bag seeds (believed to be green crack) on October 25th. Currently the trichomes are milky, and the pistils are about 40% red. Unfortunately I am leaving for 2 weeks on the 18th so I will not be able check on the drying etc. until after I am back.

My question is being asked to experienced growers as this is my first harvest. These are my options as I see it:

1: Harvest a little earlier on the 14th, dry then for 4 days, and then put them in jars with the lids open (to prevent mold).

2: Harvest on the 18th and let them dry for 2 weeks.

What are everyone's thoughts on the best option for my crop?

Thanks

harvest and let hang dry for a few weeks. as i see it that's the only way you can go with out having to monitor them. and depending on the density of your nug they may need that long to dry anyways.

I had the same situation. I watered my plants on Nov 11th then harvested them that evening. I trimmed them and hung them upside down. The next day I had to leave and when I returned 17 days later they were pretty dry. I put the buds in jars with a small piece of lettuce in each jar for approx 12 hours. The moisture returned and now I'm burping these jars for the remainder of this month. Your pot will be fine.

Lol yeah maybe if it was a 15 pound bud it would take two weeks to dry LOL

To the OP- you don't have anyone that could come and jar those buds up after 5-7 days?

I could maybe find someone to Jar them up, but not to come in and burp them everyday. Plus I am really anal about things so I would have a hard time letting someone do the job.

With your amount of posts your obviously an experienced grower.....any advice for my situation?

Well my advice was to let them dry for that many days (5-7) and then get someone to jar them up
If they are left out for two weeks they will turn to powder when you handle them. I would rather have them over dried than have to pick early
So I would say if you have no other option and no one can come and jar them up for you than I would say cut and trim like minutes before you leave

Is it wise to Jar them up and not burp them? It was always my understanding that would cause mold issues.
