I've just joined the forum, even though i have been lurkin the forum for the last 6 months, i had registered due to a serious problem and was hoping somebody could help me find answers.
One day on in november, i was driving home from walmart after getting creamer for my parents. i was driving my mom's new 2013 mazda 2 that still had the 30 day tags on it. well on the way home i stopped by and re-upped with 14 grams for the next month. On the way home, i was T-Boned on the passenger side of the car, the whole car did a 180 degree turn then flipped over into the ditch. I was able to get out the car with no scratches or bruises, and just a little whiplash. After the accident had happened, the other drivers called 911 and cops eventually came. i had marijuana on my person's, and a bowl in the glove compartment. anyways, they searched me and found marijuana. keep in mind that i hadn't smoked marijuana that day, i was waiting till i got home. I was charged with reckless driving(my fault), and possession.
2 weeks later, the insurance company requested a copy of the police report for the accident. after recieving the 4 page document from a trip the pig station, I got in my car and drove as fast and hard as possible to get me out of that he**hole. After getting home, i started reading over the report before faxing it, and I saw a tick mark that said "drug usage" next to it for my car. Which is weird, because i was never tested, or charged with a DUI. I was tested on site, but all the cops around me said that i hadn't smoked.
My insurance company has now said they will NOT pay for the mazda 2, which is $13,000. My parents and I are not able to afford this auto bill, on top of mortgage and another auto bill. This one mistake could really fuck me and my family over.
So my question is, how would i go about fixing this? Who should i call to get this fixed? Will the police department be able to change the report?
