Hello to all from this newbie...

I've been looking up questions I have constantly on google and this site comes up listed first almost every time! So I thought, why not join! Anyhow I have a few questions I'd like to get answered. First, what is generally a good soil to use? I've heard Fox Farm is a top brand but its a little on the steap side. Does anyone recommend anything that isn't as expensive yet still quality? Something that isn't a pain in the ass to find would be nice. Second, What is a good ph solution to use to bring down the level in tap water? Again..something not expensive would be sweat, possibly even a mixture? And third what kind of nutrients should I grab? I'm new to growing. I got ahold of a big bud seed and am gonna experiement first and get it down before I move onto something larger. I have a closet set up with about a 2x2x4 area. Using a 70w hps combined with a 50w multi colored led. I need to bring it all together fairly quick, the seed has cracked and needs some soil to rest in. Can anyone help a wanna be pro out? Please?
