I have done a expererment pretty much the same has your saying ,i started flowering has soon has the 1st set of leaves was about 5 mm each the plant was a indica/sativa and it was just under a foot in height.but i can't realy understand why you would want to do this why don't you wait till your plant is at least a fooy if it's a indica /sativa harf a foot if it is a indica like arjons ultra haze because i waited till my first set of a~u~haze#1 was a ft tall and they ended up been 7ft at 5 week into flowering,so if it's a plant like this strain you could still end up with a huge plant.but i have been measuring the growth of my plants the strain is chocalope and it is growing 4 ince a week that is during the flowering period too so i would say that the plants are growing the same size outwards.

If space/height is and issue you can LST the plant. This would definitely cut back on plant height. I plan on flowering from sprout to harvest and using the LST method as I'm trying a pc stealth grow and space is very limited.

flower @ 4" and youll end up with a 8-12 plant @ end of flower depending on light wattage and its distance, yet dont forget its phenos slightly differ from sibling to sibling so u may get lucky.

ok i will get 2 more. thanks for all the help guys. just one more question. why buy dwarf strains when you could just flower your sativa plant early#? what are the benefits of dwarfs. also what does LST mean ?

LST is short for Low Stress training.. It is a technique used to allow for longer vegetation periods, while at the same time training your plants (bending them) so that they remain low to the grown. There is a fairly good section in the FAQ at the top right of the page...
Dwarf strains are great for SOG (Sea of Green). It is the theory that many small plants produce the same if not more buds that a few really big ones. Examples ar Low Rider, Auto AK47's and such... They produce decent buds, in small spaces wil rapid yeilds... espacially after some experience in rotating crops...
Cheers, and have a good weekend..

no lst if hes gonna go straight to 12/12 cause the bud sites wont stick out far enough, just top once at the begining of week 2 and youll be good. but like man said get 2 more lights but get 2 47 watts @ like $8.50 a piece. use 4 y-splitters and use 3 bulbs one each socket. i flowered for the 1st 2-3 weeks with my cfls during a perpetual to save $$$.

i gave my top 44 20 days from seed before switching over. It was about 6 inches when i switched and now some are about 18 inches! i have pics in the general forum.

add 2 more bulbs 23 watters there more cost efficient per lumens. flower when the first nodes comes. youlll end up with a 12-16 inch plant with half a oz if you have enough cfls.

ok cheers for all the help. so how do i no when i get the first node? what is a node exactly? sorry im a total beginner

A node is basically where any two branches intersect.

So you have the main stalk and then branches come off the main stalk. This area is a node

Yes, bloom now. It will be close to 4 ft at the end of flower.... If all goes well...
And ps. make your own thread.
