Heat stress signs, but the temps are 75 degrees??

I have a couple of plants that I just moved last week from fluoros (96W) to a 400W HPS (Hortilux Super HPS) in my Homebox. I ran into problems with my portable AC and the temps ran up to 90 degrees. It was out of control for 4 hours. PLUS they were just put under the HID which could also cause additional stress. They are showing deep veins and some of the new leaves are pointing up to dissipate heat and transpire as much as possible. But it's only 75 degrees and the light is about 2' away. How is this possible? Could it be something else? Everything on the plant is pointing to moisture and heating issues. But the temps are cool. Hmm...
