HBBum Going Hydro - F*cking Incredible OG

They drank a couple gallons over night, so they are really loving the lower PPM of the RO water. PPM went up to 750 so I added a couple gallons of new RO water and 5ml Grow, 15ml Micro and 20ml Bloom to get PPM to 650 with a PH of 5.6

Water temps 64-68f

PPM dropped to 584, PH drifted up to 5.7

Its been a week from flip, and the growth just since the rez change it quite noticeable. I'll attribute this to the stretch from flip and I really think these girls prefer the lower PPM from the RO water. MG problems are no more and the uptick in the amount they are eating and drinking is very encouraging, I should have used RO from the get go.

They are hungry, last night the ppm had dropped to 483 from 584 in 24 hours, so I bumped it up to 748 to see how they like it.

PPM been dropping about 100 every 24 hours, so I have been topping off with water pre-mixed with additional nutrients. Also been going through about 1 gallon of water per 24 hours. Not sure if I should up my PPM even more since they are eating so heavily. Color seems pretty good, last PPM went from 748 to 650, I raised it back up to 714 but am thinking I may want to put it up to 1000.

PPM after 10 hours is 1020, but it looks like they drank 2+ gallons of water, so it seems like a good balance. I will keep around 1000 for the next couple weeks.

Hb I was wanting to switch up my light schedule while flowering, however I was 10 days in and wanted to flip from 11am-11pm to 11pm to 11am. That drastic of a change 10 days in I decided against it. However word I get back is that if you're gonna change it up, do it one time with extended darkness.

If one doesn't have R/O water, is there anything you can do, cheaper (than RO systems) filters that will lower your ppm from the tap? Or is that something that only an R/O system can do?

I go down the street, there is a machine that I can fill up my 5gal carboys for $0.25/gal, so not even worth getting an RO system for me, since I only do a very small grow. You could buy a filter to bring down your PPM if you are worried, they can end up costing quite a bit more per gallon if you are using a lot of water and swapping out filters often. You can also just mix a couple gallons of distilled or RO water from the store (Grocery has distilled for $0.88/gallon here) with your tap water to bring down the total PPM. I am totally sold on the benefits of RO for hydro, for soil though, my tap did just fine.

As far as switching lights, I would have no qualms about extending my dark period one time 10 days in, if it was going to result in better temp controls. I think the one day of extended dark would be a minor bump in the road compared to better temp management. Now, if I was 30-40 days in.. it would depend on how much I would gain by changing the light schedule, if I had real temp problems I would probably still do it though.

So you can pretty much do a water change in your reservoir for $1.25 (water only not nutrients) ? That's cheap enough to not have to invest in a filter! I was asking for hydro, not soil. I use tap that has sat for a few hours at least. No filter, and no ph adjustment needed so far.

I may go ahead with the light schedule change. With my new heater temps were 69 in the flower room. I have to figure out if this is too cold, if so, I'll flip my lights. I didn't want to risk stressing or herming the ladies. With your input and others as well ( I posted in indoor growing) I'm not worried about ill effectson the ladies. Peace hb, your grow is looking great!

I forgot to put pics of the cuttings in the 1G aero bucket. They are already showing little white nubs so I am pretty sure they will be ready before I am :)

The stem on these girls is solid as hell:

Drinking a lot but maintaining 1000 PPM and the PH only drifted up to 5.9.

As much of a pain in the ass as it was, this net is doing its job. Will still replace the cord with a more pliable line for the next run.

Will let the rez get down a bit more then will do a clean and swap.

Seems pretty heavy to me also, but it's my first hydro grow. I imagine they will slow a little now since the stretch should be about over. Got nice flowers forming all over. This strain is supposed to be a lower yielded than I am used to, but cannot tell by the way she has been growing. Also supposed to be done in 6-8 weeks which I am also skeptical about.
