especially since california is 30+% chicano (classified as "white" when the classifier wants to claim whitey is the devil, but chicano when they want the votes or when claiming a minority majority)

also, "hispanic" is not only incorrect, it is demeaning. by repeating that hateful racebaiting word you are negating their native ancestry and their status as indigenous peoples.

hispanics are from spain, not the americas.

latins are from the province of latium in italy (thats rome, so not just any guido can qualify, shit up till the fall of the republic most of italy only had the latin rights, not proper roman citizenship)

chicano is the accepted term for non-spanish peoples of central and south america.
. Labeling skin is about as dumb as the flags we wave. Why can't we all just be of this earth and leave it be? Never cared what rock someone was born on or what the people of that particular rock call themselves.

it's not "labeling skin"

many europeans (italians and greeks come to mind) can have a natural skin tone very similar to many chicanos, southern india is full of people as dark as any in africa, and australia is chock-a-block full of natives who are far blacker than our kenyan president, and i challenge most people to identify a chinese guy from a korean or a japanese or a viet, etc.

these are societal and cultural differences that change the way we view society, and the way society views us. there are also often religious and cultural differences that makes ethinic identity more important to most people than simply "labeling skin"

chicanos have a language (spanish and portagee plus a few others) that is distinct from most north american societies (english) but they are socially and ethnically distinct from spaniards and portagee from europe. chicanos also have many cultural and religious influences from their native ancestry and society that makes them different from your average dude from madrid or seville.

just like americans (even if they are descended from english people) are NOT brits, nor are americans from german extraction germans.

the conceit of the multiculturalists is that "white" is a culture, a society and a monolithic group, while every other group can be finestoned into tiny little societial groups and each tiny difference must be respected honoured and celebrated with an annual parade or celebration of some sort.

thats just stupid.
