Have i ruined them

Can anyone give me advice please,.,?.
I have done about 10 grows in 3 years and have learnt along the way , i have made mistakes which have been a great learning curve. I would call myself quite a confident grower now but with still loads to learn. I have never had a drying problem before but i think i messed up my girls right at the end. Me and my wife had to go away for three days and it happened to be on the last week of my 4 N.L XBIG BUD. girls. I have been flushing them with clean water for the last two weeks and would have chopped them before i went away, but with dryings issues of close inspection and smell i decided to leave them still in thier pots in the tent giving them 3 days darkness, when i came back and turned the lights on i was relieved to see them looking ok with no signs of condensation or rot. Next day i set about cutting down and trimming everything still seemed fine. I hung them up and left them happy but on my return the next day i had some bud rot in the end i had to cut off all the buds from the stem losing some of the bud. I have since cut every bit of black damp bud out and now the buds are in smallish bits in a brown paper bag in the tent. I realise that all the water they drew up in the last to weeks was still abundant in the stem and flowers and leaving them in the darkness for 3 days is my biggest mistake of my growing career. But they were grown organic and some of the bud looks ok. any advice by anybody would be a great help i am sure. Many thanks.

thats what happens when people do things that are proven, just shit people hear from buddies and dipshits on websites, please stop putting your plants into darkness thinking that it will make them superweed, im very sorry to hear about your situation i just wish you would have done more research before doing this, it probably didnt help your weed at all also im very sorry this happened just make sure you do something that is scientifically proven to work before you just go doing this plus rep for mold sorry again

a few things went wrong that i can tell, and please feel free to debate:
1. organic fert... what kind? i have had problems with earthjuice's vegetative mix molding...
B) Where were the trimmings hung?
3 - WHY DIDNT YOU HAVE THEM ON A TIMER?!?!?!?!
4) any root rot?

I think the three days darkness still in soul did you in for sure. it gives a chance for mold to take hold even if you can't see it. my guess would be root rot moved up the stem during the three days and hanging them brought all the moisture, along with the rot, to the buds oh and VENTILATION - do you have any in the drying room? grow room?
DISPOSE OF THE ROTTING BUDS IMMEDIATELY so the spores do not contaminate the rest of the crop, but do it gently so as not to spread any more
also, inspect the rest of the buds THOROUGHLY with a microscope or magnifying glass and gently remove ALL signs of bud rot.
sorry to hear about such a tasty sounding cross getting ruined, hopefully you can salvage some :weed:
anyone else have any input?
