Hash Oil/Earwax Help?

keep it up! patience is key because sometimes it can take all day. if you have a big enough puddle to work with, get a drill with a flat-head bit and drain the battery spinnin the stuff. thn throw it back on the double boil and mash it around. go back and forth doin that every 10 minutes or so and if it still isnt working just let it sit on the double boil and check on it every hour or so. if it never hardens, at elast you have some dank bud puddy! try experimenting with buds/trim as chef said. i think that might have happened to me with a run of velvet urkle that turned crude on me, but i cant remember. good luck man!

Or, and this might be key, don't spray as much butane. Try half a can, small puddle, whip w your dabber, on and off like metal said. Whip vigorously. Blow on it, a lot. when its off the heat and your getting a glassy amberish consistency after a few minutes put it back on the heat and your almost done!!! Tga make the best wax I have ever worked w, period.

I am going to try vacuuming it, I just can't get it and it is driving me nuts

Just use the Pyrex sitting in a hot water bath, whip until it turns light yellow and pull the Pyrex out of the water bath and onto cold counter top. continue whipping until it starts to grab together then use razor and scrape and put into container. Note: If you like the taffy then dont whipp anylonger, If you want the powder/glass then whip a few times each day, it will turn as more of the solvent evaps out. My personal taste is towards the powder(cleaner). When I use it I just warm my little spoon and stir in in the powder, it grabs a nice dose----ready for the titanium hotplate

i still can't get it to turn to powder or earwax. I can whip into a frenzy till gets yellow and milkish but it eventually gets shiny and greasy again. can't get over the hump and turn it. what am i missing

What trim are you using? Are you jamming all the trim in or just fitting enough to fill your extractor? How much butane are you spraying? We'll figure it out!!

u are heating it too much. keep it below 95 degrees the whole time. use good quality shake and buds. there are more techniques to get it there but those are secrets just play around you'll get it

ok I am using a 12 inch glass extraction tube with quality trim and small buds from an outdoor vortex plant my buddy got the trim reaper so all of trim is pure sugar leaf and small bud. I am putting one tube of butane in that tube and not packing it in that much just a little pressure. I am doing this into a pyrex dish that is inside a larger one in hot water. I then wait for it to to stop bubbling and then on low heat double boiler I stir until it is matte. Then cool and stir. However I only get taffy can not I repeat can not get it to turn. I have been leaving it out trying to evap more out. I stir for a couple of hours everyday i have left one batch in the fridge and one in the window sill. I am confused

Ok, 95 would be tuff to do, but we all have our own techniques. The beauty of what
We're doing is that somewhere in there is the answer. I think your doing well. Maybe try half the butane. Get your puddle together sooner, like don't wait for all the butane to evaporate before you start scraping it off the sides of the pyrex. Get the puddle as thin as possible so that as much is in contact with the surface as can be at once. If you have a bit the size of an apple, over a double boiler it shouldn't take more than forty minutes. Its not an on for five of for five thing, you just gotta watch it. Take it of when its like runny and shiny, and I put the pyrex on a paper towel to absorb some of the heat, whip, whip, whip till its getting really sticky, then back on the heat. If your still doing this after an hour its over.its not gonna happen. I think just go for it cuz if your on and off on and off its gonna take ten years and you'll never kno!!!

And ya, good job not packing too tight, it never comes out right when you rush, and that is the only reason not to do small batches.

Alright so here are some questions that might help me. How many times do you guys go from hot to cold? and when does it start to change at hot or cold? thanks, sorry for being suck a pain but I feel like I am so close to unlocking this mystery.

Just use a glass dabber or the tip of a hanger. It starts to happen on the heat, gets a lil matte then a lil more off then get it on the razor. Then in your dish, in like an hour it will look like wax if its right.

the best i make isnt al the way waxed when i pull it... it is a little sticky. i can still hansle it in my hands no problem but im just sayin..... So yor getting to the glass stage right? let it kick there for a minute or two all hard like, blow on it a lil, then back on the heat for a lil longer, five, six mins.... if its not happening maybe your place is hanuted or some shit, cuz it sounds like your doing fine.

I've been trying hard w the vortex I am going to see if it might be the strain I also have some deadhead og and dream queen. Maybe more indica will help

hmmm... Ya that vortex should be good, try filing the tube half way loosely!!!! Try for a half gram of perfection, then work your way up..

why does everyone want wax? I personally try for shatter and if its not a particularly terpene heavy strain that waxes ill even re work it back to shatter or oil.

also imo too loose of a pack leads to decreased yields as it doesn't allow the butane to penetrate the center of the nug as thoroughly as when packed tightly so i pack my sstb really really tight.
