Has LED lost it's Cool?

I think that is a down to earth yield # of what most can expect to repeatedly produce
I myself am in the camp that a lot of these #'s are either straight up inflated or they are definitely counting stem and trim weight.
I have seen quite a few bigger grows in my area from people that have been doing it a long time and deep in the circles and none are claiming over 1g per watt
It is a lot like fishing that way, the numbers grow every time someone tells the story. I prefer not to do that shit; I don't cheat at golf, either.

There's that tricky efficiency term again.
I would put induction up against any other light source for veg.
What would most of you led guys use over a 4x4 for led?
4 IG100's hung over a 4x4 I am confident would grow much more robust, thick stalked plants than the 400W led options with a much nicer coverage.
The 420's definitely grow some nice herb too. Probably the best coverage out there for someone that wants to set up a closet quickly and have a nice coverage over a 3x4 space.
I do think there could be some extra horse power blended with a cob or higher intensity pontoon addition.
All in all it is a beautiful product with a unmatched warranty and company that actually backs it up with no sass.
What are you going to do when your Meanwell DIY driver craps out mid flower? I know inda-gro will have my problem fixed within 2-3 days.

Anyone know how Apache and Rapid LED are with handling warranties?
It's not a tricky term. Actually it's pretty simple. Top quality LEDs can simply deliver more than twice as many photons as IG (assuming the same input power).

While I agree with you, 400W LED products are usually in the ~200W range.
And to part two, Amazon delivers pretty fast, usually, not to take anything away from Inda-Grow's warranty.
Yes, I am meaning actual not the inflated comparison watts of led.
1 200W led hung in the middle of a 4x4 is not going to provide the coverage or quality of the 4 100W IG's

I guess what a lot of this comes down to also is how heavily are you relying on your equipment? Is it just for fun or does it have to produce or cause you financial and other consequences? In the later case, you would appreciate the inda-gro product/warranty

I totally misread your previous post. Gotcha now. Also, I appreciate you mentioning different use-cases, we have many differing goals as growers.

I personally am leaning toward the blended technology approach. I don't think 1 source is best for all plant stages.
I have my clone-seedling-veg-preflower approach dialed. Just trying to nail down my "finisher" light source
For my 5x5 I'm thinking:
DE HPS
Inda-Gro 420/pontoon with Hot Rodded pontoon
Apache AT600 or 5 AT200
Rapid LED Indus

I'm convinced that a 200W (or (4) 50W ones for the sake of coverage) top quality LED would be at least equal to 4 100W IGs.

That would push a lot of photons, I like it! Your Party Cup looks outrageous.

A buddy of mine got .54g/w from two plants with two "300W" Mars Hydro 1st Generation (100x3W peak), each about 136 watts actual. It was excellent quality, Jean Guy from seed in soil, and his first grow. This is acceptable for us beginners, but certainly not cutting edge. Just posting results for anyone interested in knowing.
I don't think mars cant grow, but would def use hps before.

800watts of CXB/Vero29 space evenly over 4x4

I think rather than the guys on here that are sharp with all the led tech beating each other up trying to start their own panel companies, why doesn't one of you just start a DIY LED PARTS supplier?
Stock all these popular items for those who may want to build their own but the thought of dealing direct with china and long delivery times turns them off?
