Has anyone used or seen this new system?

Hey guys and gals, new to the forum but not the game. Been using bucket top drip for over ten years and then when I went into my local store the guy was selling this new system. He was calling it the ProGrow system. I had to pick one up when I saw the price and all that came with it. I will have to get a better camera and some pics up of the room. I will be rocking some WW and BB this round. Here is a video the guy made of the system. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUiD4zk1qMI&feature=channel_video_title

Peace

That looks like an undercurrent modified with some sort of drip ring? What's the advantage of having a drip return like that? I was thinking of building something similar with a sprayer bar in each pot, but not a drip ring.

looks like someone's diy bs flow rate is way to high itsa recirculatin drip system at best dont expect a whole lot from diy system as 99% are poorly made/and or designed

i see how it works. the roots wont be in the water like a dwc. instead the water is under the 3 gallon bucket right? its a 3gal inside a 5gal?

I don't exactly understand how it works... Is it like dwc where when the water splashes the resulting droplets wet the roots?

just immagine it as a dwc with the roots not touching water? idk looks like an over large system to me. something you could make in a smaller compact version and get the same yield if not more

Maybe it's cuz I'm somber, (don't worry I'm leaving 10 minutes to go pick up) but I don't get it. Where do the roots go? The water in the buckets isn't aerated.
I think if I had that I would turn it in to an ebb and flow system.

Halo drippers are nice guys.. if used with/by an air pump. Full on drip buckets used by water pumps without air pumps aren't actually DWC since there's no deep water available.

Ya the system is more of a RSWC. The halo rings get water from the pump in the resy. I have it set on the cycle stat timer for 10min on every four hours. I did pick up a 8" airstone to put into my main resy. The flow rate is going well so far...I have 5" of water in all 10 buckets and 5" of water in my main resy. The water is being moved around by a 275gph inline pump. The system is not for everyone but for me and wanting simple....it works great. The hardest part so far was getting the 1" barbed fittings into the buckets.....LOL
