Harvest When Dry or Wet?

With harvest time getting closer and closer(~week or so), I want to make sure I do everything I can to produce the finest smoke.

Would it be better to harvest maybe a day after a heavy watering?

OR

Harvest 4-6 days after a heavy water so the soil is mostly dry and the plant starved for water?

Of course having it wet will have a longer dry time, but will it allow more of the chlorophyll and other by products to evaporate better than just having the plant dry up?

Any opinions on this?

I've done it both ways and have seen no difference in drying times. IMO, drying times are more affected more by the environment of the room you dry in that how much water you give em pre-harvest.

What I do know is that watering right before harvest leaves ya with a wet friggin dirt ball to deal with...so I personally try to let them dry a bit for that reason alone.

good luck

Man, we used to flood them with water the last week, like 7 days in a row. Called it FLUSHING. We'd soak them twice a day with clean pure water, NO Nutes, and let it drain out, to get the salts out and clean the taste.
what you do and how you do it now is SO VERY Important to taste. Read up on it,
Peace

Hi n00b post here! Can I ask how smoking the buds 'damp' can affect the THC content/absorption? The reason I ask is a friend of a friend left me some pretty shit stuff that is clearly not been dried properly (which I am now doing although I've had a J or four) and it's much more mellower of a high than I'm used to from this area....

hope u didnt pay for that bud, cuz if ya did u jus got ripped off as the buds will lose weight when dried

nope lucky I didn't... :joint:
So I know they lose mass but does smoking it when not cured properly affect the THC buzz?

When you cure it theres more THC per weight. The weight and thc potency adjust equivalently. The less weight the more potent. They lose weight and size, from losing water [and possibly other chemicals, depending on cure method]- while being cured.

i've read a couple of places, and George Cervantes vid agrees to not give the plants water for the last two days before harvest. its dryer for a quicker cure and forces the plant to drain all it's resin out to the flowers in anticipation of death.

I'm not sure...but I have been letting them get droopy, then water them. I think it drain all of the thc to the bud like he said above. But when you do this a few times throughout flowering, it will make your buds look like they have sheets of ice on them...check out my grow journal
