Harold's new stealth cab!

Hi,

I'm back after almost 2 years. This is my second cab in the making. In the end I hope to completely eliminate all issues with noise, odor and light leaks. Currently I am germing 9 random bagseed until I am able to get clones or certain strains I am interested in.

Dimensions
Height: 185 cm (6 ft)
Length: 59.5 cm (1.95 ft)
Width: 55.7 cm (1.8 ft)

I will possibly be splitting this cab in half by height in order to fit two grows into it. I will be investing in a S&P TD-Silent N 160/100 inline fan, carbon filter, flowering light and much more. I am now using a 250W 6400k CFL with reflector hood.

Questions
1. The inline fan I am considering to buy is rated 21db at its lower speed, does anyone have an idea of how loud this will sound if in the same room?

2. By using passive intake, a carbon filter and ONA gel.. is it likely that there will still be a strong odor in this room during flowering?

3. Since I am short on horizontal space compared to vertical space, I plan on splitting my cab in half so that I can have two grows.. which grow style would max my yield? SOG/SCROG/Etc..?

4. My current light is a 250W 6400k CFL, my hood fits an e40 light.. any suggestions on what type of flowering light I should put my money into?

Thanks for giving this thread a read. Any and all feedback/suggestions welcome!

Look's nice and clean!

Shouldn't be loud, but be sure to maybe hang it, and ducting makes noise too...
There was some good post about vibrations, and how low frequencies tend to move by hard surfaces, so, less vibrations is better...

Passive or Active intake won't change in odour anything at all. Passive imho is even better...

Yeah, you could make a small veg room/clone room, and then do Sea Of Green with multiple clones and do a perpetual harvest - or two chambers - one for vegging and then maximize everything with scrog

4. My current light is a 250W 6400k CFL, my hood fits an e40 light.. any suggestions on what type of flowering light I should put my money into?

Could go for HPS 400HPS... But imho if you got spare 150€ you could build your own COB / LED light.

Hey thanks for the feedback! Okay so I did some reading on perpetual sog and I have just one question.
Let's say I take clones today from my mother, will I be able to put them into flowering in 2 weeks?

I was thinking I would have 4 sets of clones flowering and 1 set of fresh clones in the other half of my cab next to its mother plant.
That way, every 2 weeks as I harvest 1 set from the flowering room.. it would be replaced by the clones in the other half that have been there for 2 weeks.
But I'm just not sure how much time a clone needs from its initial day of cutting to when it should be placed into flowering.

As for the HPS, been looking at those myself!

I usually cut my clones and give them 14-21 days just to root [some go faster, some take that long]. I like to go 4 weeks from rooting for vegging before flower stage.. 2 weeks is pushing it.

Some of this could be sped up with an aero-cloner, but not much. Sometimes I get faster root times in aero cloner vs. soil, but sometimes not.

In two weeks, they might still be just developing their 1st roots. Blasting them with more light won't speed up the process.....

:peace:

Hmm okay, well I could do 3 weeks without a problem and still get clones every 2 weeks by simply having 2 sets of clones in the making.
Btw, is there a specific term used for when you manipulate clones to grow one main cola?

Yes, you got the principle.
You could harvest every few weeks, some clones are older some not.
You have room where you have 12/12, where you put ROOTED clones.
Believe me, when you put them clones straight in to flowering, they are not going to branch a lot, you will have almost lolipop

Here is a list of the equipment I have in mind for running a perpetual SOG.

1. CFL 125W for Clones + Mother
2. LED 120W for Flowering
3. Inline Fan
4. Carbon Filter
5. Soil
6. Cloning Rooter
7. Cloning Box
8. Cloning Rockwool
9. Cloning Scalpel
10. ONA
11. Insulated Ducting
12. Bungee Hangers
13. Light Leaks
14. Wiring
15. Timer
16. pH down
17. Magnet Lock

Am I missing anything?
I already have nutes, reflector, power strip, and a digital pH tester.
