hardcore ballast problem

I have a hardcore 1000w mh/hps ballast. The ballast won't work when switched to mh, so Ive been using it to power a mh 1k watt bulb on hps mode. Recently the cord got bumped at the wall outlet, and the light turned off.. now when plugged in the light turns on for 20 seconds, flickers, and turns off. I had this happen to another outlet and I was never able to use ANY 1k watt ballast in it. Does anyone know what to do, or what happened? When taken to the grow shop everything works fine..

Get a multi tester and test the outlet If it doesn't work and you have to fix it, make sure you turn off the power because the wires are still live. Oh yeah, check your breaker first.

by fix do you mean replace the outlet? the breaker is fine. Than you for the help!!

Yeh man. Just turn the power off and replace it. They cost like less than a buck a piece. Rewire it the way you unwired it and voila. If that don't work well. I dunno.
