Haha, porkies,i love it & ima use that shit later on,porkies even my wife is laughin, good stuff.
Anyhow tiptop hit the nail square on the head, all that sterile enviroment is a load of crap,i run 8 big ass 4ft x 8ft tables, each with its own 55 gallon rez,the rez's are all sunk in the ground with only about 6 inches above ground, this way i never have to chill any rez because the geothermal aspect of it keeps temps right around 60 degrees,in dead winter as low as 55 degrees.
Anyhow back to sterile enviroment,i burried the rez's to keep from spending $4,000 on chillers plus power costs, the one drawback is cleaning the rez, dumping the water is fast & easy as each rez has its own sump pump permenantly plumbed to dump right into the bldgs waste water, cleaning the bottom of the 55 gallon barrels is a mo fo & i cant pump out the last 4 inches of water, nor can i get inside the barrel to clean it really well.
All i do is take a sponge mop & scrub it around a bit before turning the pump on to dump the water, that below ground rez system has been operational for nearly 2 years now without a proper scrubbing or sterlization, ive never had any scum, bacteria, alge, mites, root aphids ect, zero problems.
When my rez's were above ground i had quite a few problems, thats when i figured out light & water temp played the largest role in a healthy rez,i bought one chiller & brought temps down below 65 degrees at all times & that rez was perfect while i still had problems with the other 7 rez's.
Your rez temp hitting 70 degrees is not good & can help grow the nastys, get the temp from 58 degrees to 65 degrees max & your rez will never gunk up again & you wont have to spend $30 on peroxide.
Oh & for the bennys,i grow soil also in areas that are too small for a flood table,i used bennys in a soil grow where each plant normally yeilds from 5 to 7 ounces per plant, the soil grow where i used the bennys didnt do any better or worse & yeilds were not any higher past non benny grows,i think bennys would be good for conditioning soil in an outdoor setting & thats about it.
