Guns and Growing.

What is everyone opinion on gun ownership and growing? I'm a licenced gun owner, all my guns are legal and I have permits for them. I was reading somewhere else that the fact I have weapons where I grow would create a harsher penalty if I was caught growing.

I understand that I would probably lose my licence if I was caught but would the charges be increased just for having weapons? If the cops were to raid my house, would the tactical squad be there just because they know I've got guns?

I'm not in the US, but do people here on rollitup own guns aswell? I wouldn't get rid of mine in any case but I am curious as to what other people think, shout out your opinion....

that would suck because i collect alot of weapons, i have a few guns but alot more old stylr weapons...

i had a buddy that got raided for dealing, he had a garden and a bunch of weapons too, sawed off shotguns and shit like that... but i dont think he got charged more. they just took em all away.

(sawed offs would get you a fellony tho, sorry bout that, his was made like that, more of a hand gun than a shotgun, never shot, double barrel, just for looks)

Personally i have no firearms but i believe it should be completely legal to own them. after all how can we protect ourselves from a dictatorship when they have all the guns?

in regards to your penalty question im afraid i cant help but i strongly believe people need some form of self protection without the government barking down their necks to take them away, surely this is a sure sign of a government that doesnt want a large % of the population armed and able to fight back should the need arise. Strong view i know but its bad enough that we arent allowed to legally grow herb :(

It really depends how the guns are being stored. Keep them locked up away from your plants, dont keep loaded weapons sitting around, keep your guns and ammo locked up.

If its all locked up safely, and its not easily accessible, (like if you got a knock at the door it would take more then a minute or two to get a weapon loaded) Then you should be OK. It really depends on local laws and the cops that raid you.

If everything is properly being stored then you can Easily argue that you are a responsible gun owner, and you go out of your way to keep your guns locked up and safe.

You will run into problems if you get charged with dealing, trafficking, any type of gang association, then they might want to argue that your not a "responsible" gun owner.

But with the right lawyer you would be fine, just keep your guns locked up and safe, and dont keep them loaded. Also if you do get busted/raided make a point to tell them you have weapons, where they are, and that they are all locked up safely and not loaded.

If you get raided and you cooperate with the police things will go a lot smoother and they wont be able to charge you with nearly as much.

Violent crimes are probably the absolute worst thing to be associated with. Just growing herb for "personal use" isnt much of a crime IMO.

Yes all my guns are locked in an approved safe with ammo and mags seperate, and I dont look at them as home protection, which isn't allowed here anyway, recreational hunting or sports shooting is the correct term for gun ownership. I think my American Staffy does the home protection job quite well anyway:)

Do you think they would come in full tactical? I don't have kids but I would like to assure my fiance to "go quietly" if that were to happen lol

Unless your under investigation for violent crimes then I dont think they will raid you. They are gonna investigate you long before they ever raided you. If your not a young kid who thinks hes a gangster and goes around showing off his guns then I think you will be fine.

You have all your permits so Im assuming you do go hunting. When they are investigating you and they find out you have weapons they will look into what you have them for. If you've had hunting permits in the last few years then they have no reason to think you are gonna be a "violent" criminal.

Like I said before, as long as your not associated with gangs, violent crimes, trafficking, or hard drugs then they dont really have a reason to raid you. They are more worried about tips for illegal weapons, and any gangs with weapons.

If you have your gun license and permits then you obviously dont have a violent criminal record, so I really wouldnt be too worried about getting raided.

question , should the amo be locked up in a diffrent area away from the guns?

It depends on local laws. Having the ammo in a separate ammo safe/lock box couldn't hurt though. The most important thing is to have the guns locked up and NOT loaded, keep the empty clips with the guns, and the ammo in a ammo lock box. If its in a safe, even better.

Trigger locks are also great, if you had trigger/bolt locks on all the guns it would be that much easier for your lawyer if you got busted.
