Huge momentum building for gun control. Should be interesting.

Hard to take seriously the discussion of arming teachers. I predict change is coming.

I really don't see how "gun laws" are going to fly here with our recent experience/research (DC & Chicago) now on the books. That said, I have also witnessed this society embrace the absurd in recent memory given successful political fear mongering (Psyc Ops IMO) ...

I hate to do this but ill throw my hat in. I think the issue with this case was how and why did he have full access to his mothers guns. If I have to lock my plants in a room impenetrable to anyone else and they don't kill anyone, where the hell were her gun locks / safe storage? The issue at hand here is personal responsibility and how that was lacking in this particular situation. I will give one back door out for myself from this if it turns out he stole keys to get into the guns or got a hold of them by similar means but In my opinion if she was a responsible gun owner he should have not had access to the guns without her knowing or giving permission. He got turned away from buying guns earlier in the week hence his brothers id in his wallet so that he could pass for old enough to purchase a weapon. That's what it comes down to the government has to step in if even a minority of the certain population (Car Drivers, Gun Owners, Business regulations...etc..) is causing a perpetual danger to innocent people and that stems from a lack of personal responsibility on the minority of the specific demographic that are irresponsible. The normal safe check worked properly this time when he wasnt able to purchase a weapon right away if at all but he still got his hands on what he needed from home.

Written human history is long, unwritten longer with the history of the "gun" being both short and relatively recent. WTF does a gun have to do with the problem of humans masacuring many other humans? This is clearly a psychological/sociological problem of will and motive NOT a problem of means (the weapon).

exactly, which is why 'gun control' is so ludicrous, nuts will still be nuts.

yuppp people can make bombs and knives and other bladed instruments that anyone without a weapon would be just as defenseless as a gun.

imagine if he went in with a cross bow, or a samurai sword?

just as many people dead and just as dangerous to people with no guns but more or less unregulated

people are too crazy to give up guns and no one will ever give them up

if you tried to make a law against owning any firearm previously legal there would be no way to get rid of the guns already in circulation and the people with them would rather shoot the person trying to take their gun away than give it up.

so guns and weapons will always be here. its too late to turn back. all we can do is help find the crazy people sooner.

because in the end anyone can get a gun. legal/illegal dont matter people find what they want.

but if the world is full of kids with pshycholoical problems, why then make it easy for them to get hold of a Gun ?

I wonder how many cases of this could have been avoided if Guns wasn't so common and easy to get ? how many would have stopped in time before makeing a stupid impulsive act ..

IMO Guns are for military, police and maybe for home defense, not something every moron should walk around with but I guess that is one of the difference from Scandinavia and the US so I just shut up .......

didn't you have some nutjob over there go crazy on a vacation island and kill like 70 people recently? ...you think if you were one of those vacationers you'd have liked to have a gun handy?

in America we own guns and we won't give them up willingly, and woe the fool who try's to take them by force!

I think we should be able to have fully automatic machine guns, bazookas, Serin gas, hand grenades and maybe a neutron bomb. All of these items left alone won't harm a fly.
