Growroom light q:

Newbie here. Is a 400hps enough for a Darkroom 120?

I plan to use and turboGarden Aeroponic system unless someone tells me it sucks.

You have to word the question better,i have no idea what your asking other than will a 400 watt be large enough.

Whats a dark room 120?

A 400 watt high pressure sodium light system will cover a 3ft x 3ft area & no larger,a 600 watt will cover 4.5 ft x 4.5 ft & a 1,000 watt light will cover a 6ft x 6ft area & no larger.

i know which room your talking about. Yes, a 400 watt hps is perfect for the Darkroom120. Do you have it already? its supposed to be the newest and best growroom line.

I will post pics when done. I may be switching to an ebb system instead of the aero setup though.

Panhead - the 120 is a growroom that basically has a 4x4 floor area. It does have some really good reflective surfaces though.


I'm a little concerned about the area being larger than 3x3. Should I go ahead and bump up to the 600w hps? Are there any downsides besides temps?

oh shit, i read the dimensions wrong. yah. its 3' 11", i just thought 3'x3', my bad. I would use a 600 watt. I have a 4'x4' flowering area, and my plants love the 600 watt hps. covers 4x4 perfectly.

that tent is supposed to be the bomb. In a couple months, im buying the 9'x9', and 3 of the dr 120's to put inside it for extra ir protection. I think the peace of mind is worth it alone, plus i can take them with me were ever i move.

I just bought a DR120 to go with my 400watt HPS I already had. Sure, it would take at least 600 watts
to cover that much area perfectly, but it's not like your bud won't grow under the 400. You just have to
keep your plants in a 3x3 are under the light. I plan on upgrading to a 600 watt, or
just adding another 400watt later on.
