Growing Tall and Short Strains at The Same Time

I know this is unrecommended and I was well aware of the repurcussions that could happen from doing this, but I decided I'd try to grow both tall and short strains at the same time anyways. I like my variety. Screw growing only one strain or being limited to strains of approximately the same height. I grow what I want! Bahaha.

The strains are Blue Dream, Chronic Lights, and Top44 x Bubblegum. Blue dream is tall, Top44 x BG is short, and chronic lights is kinda in between.

My initial plan was to just top the shit out of Blue dream and Chronic Lights to keep them at the same height and maybe over time this will work, but I'm like two and half weeks into the veg stage and already seeing a big difference in height. Both blue dream and chronic lights are about twice the height of Top44xBG. (I have also topped both).

I was wondering if people have any techniques or equipment they have used to solve this problem and get plants that naturally arnt the same height, to be the same height. This top 44 x BG is reallllyy staying short and bushy. Idk if it'll even reach the height of the canopy I normally get my plants to.

I had one idea of using a jack that I could easily adjust the height of the plant from the ground. Has anybody done this? And if so where do you get the jack?

Any other ideas or techniques on keeping the same height are appreciated! Thanks in advanced. Here is a photo:

BTW I am growing under a 400W HPS, in coco coir. Plants have been blowing up lately and look GREAT. #Coco love affair.

I use a screen and train them under it by bending the Super Lemon and keeping it the same height as the T44/BG.

here's the high tech equipment i use to even out the height of my plantsView attachment 3792291
LOL I suppose there is always the simple find boxes and shit of multiple different sizes, but then I have to switch them out all the time and find new sized boxes as the plants grow. I'm lazy. Honestly though probly gonna end up what I have to do. Just looking for some nice crafty ideas if anybody has em.

In that note: cheap Scrog ideas?
Here are some Jack Herer in week 4 of flower in a homemade scrog net. The ceiling in less than 4 feet tall. Jack stretches a lot and she got a little uneven, but the buds are stacking up nice. The net is 5x5, made from 2x4's and mason string. Cost about 20 bucks. The light is a dimmable 1000 watt HPS. I have used the net multiple times and I even hang my plants to dry from it before curing.

maybe you guys can help I'm looking to grow a 5 foot plant, (from the pot not the ground) should I use a 7 or 10 gallon pot? i have them in one gallon pots now. I'll be running 4 1000w hps. they're 3 weeks from seed now. 5 are 2 weeks and 10 just popped. i wanted to stagger the grows. well tell me what you think and any suggestions? I did the same and said I'll figure it out as I go along I'm growing 5 different strains at once. I figured that's why the lights are on ratchets.

If space is not a problem, the bigger the pots you use means you will have more room for root growth. Always follow one of the golden rules.. The bigger the roots the bigger the fruits (or buds)

I sometimes use milk crates to even up the canopy when I end up with a shorty; there's no technology I'm aware of to help once they are stretched out in early flower except the obvious scrog net training methods but there's much you can do to reduce stretching in the first place. Besides its not the worst thing to have plants of differing heights...well within reason: Place the shortys in the middle of your light footprint and the taller ones towards the side & just spin em daily or twix a day if you can.
Next time try reducing hours of light in the weeks before the flip: ex..if you veg at say 18/6 then reduce to 17/7 for a week or two and then reduce to 16/8 for another week or two...then flip to 12/12 as normal you will notice tighter nodal stacking which will reduce stretching in between buds/nodes resulting in slightly bigger flowers. I mean a stretchy strain still stretches but not as much because you mimic the Suns natural cycle more closely; the way the plants have evolved to do. You never see a stretched outdoor plant because the 12/12 bloom triggering light cycle comes gradually. You could reduce light by an hour per week all the way down to 12/12 but that's not necessary to get the result you want. Try it it works

Not sure how you grow, and I know this was posted a while ago, but I'm curious to try this next time bc with my short tent I do end up with issues during flowering stretch. I sometimes end up having to super crop tops bc I run out of space and can't afford them to stretch anymore.

I am using hydroponic nutes and obviously once you switch to flower there is a big change you need to make in the NPK ratio. So what do you do (if your growing with hydro nutes) with the nurtient concentrations at that time? Do you just gradually shift from more bloom to less grow nutes overtime? Or just wait until you hit 12/12 and then go with bloom nutes like you had just switched to flower?

You want to introduce bloom nutes about 2 weeks after the flip or when the stretch is done..
Start with 50/50 bloom, grow then go to bloom nutes.. good luck!

I just water them; all my plants in organic soil are worm fed so it's very simple. When I used to run nutes though I would keep using the grow formula until pistils emerge about a week or 2 after flip. In my veg areas I keep topping and pinching tops to slow growth and induce tight bushy nodal spacing but I think you get the idea....good luck & happy growing
