growing seminars / Cannabis Cup

Hmmm.. not sure if this is the proper board for this question, but...

I was thinking of hitting up the Cannabis Cup in Denver in April 15 to attend whatever growing seminars that might happen. So I looked over the web-site for that and couldn't find much on the list of events... I also checked out the venue for the event, which turns out to be a roadside Ramada hotel. The lack of info on events and the cheesy-looking hotel have put me off, as it would be an expensive trip (long way from where I am), so... my questions are...

Has anyone been to a Cannabis Cup event? What was your experience there?

Is it an expo-like event or more of a "gathering" of a usual clique that meets up annually to get wasted? Or somewhere in between?

Given that it's in Colorado where things are legal now I thought maybe it'd be closer to a mainstream event now...

Then I found there's a couple more Cannabis Cup events this year. The one in San Fran looks more promising, but the host hotel in the Sonoma Valley doesn't even list it on their event calendar. So... I dunno....

I was there last 2 years, and will probably go again this year. Its a very large venue. The hotel next door is not where it is. It's the entire block beside and behind and all other building in that block called the Exdo Center. The hotel your talking about is a nice place to stay because you are so close and very 420 friendly. They doubled there prices for the event this year so I'm staying with a friend in Littleton.

The seminars are packed so show up early if you want a good seat. They have had a question and answer session with several people who have dedicated there lives in one way or another to growing or breeding, hosted by Danny Danko. B.E. Smith form Weed Country did a cannabis legal seminar last year. Tommy Chong was there all day on 4/20 signing and meeting people. Henry Rollins was filming his 10 things you don't know about series last year.

Definitely would say it's more of an expo than a gathering. There are a couple booths set up like a lounge with rolling trays and ashtrays. There are so many booths you won't be able to see all of them in one day or even two if you actually stop at every one. Some really cool products and some not so great ones. Lots of free stuff like stash jars, tee shirts galore. If your looking for some seeds there were at least 20 seed company's including Cali Connection, Rare Dankness, Reserva Privada, TGA, OG'Raskal, Buds and Roses, Seedsman, BCBD, and the list goes on and on.

Tickets just went on sale last week at cannabiscup.com
