I looked at this site hoping to find them connecting growers and Vets in need, but it didn't seem to be the case. It looked like the only donations they were excepting were cash or volunteering. Are there any regional services like this in Michigan and if not would any members be interested?

Mission Statement
OUR MISSION: The mission of Operation Grow4Vets is to help reduce the staggering number of Veterans who die each day from suicide and prescription drug overdose. We provide Veterans with the knowledge and resources necessary to obtain or grow their own marijuana for treatment of their medical conditions.

OUR VISION: To raise awareness by enlisting the public’s aid and support in ensuring that all injured and wounded Veterans receive the respect and dignity of life that they deserve.

OUR PURPOSE: To provide Veterans with unique products, programs and services designed to assist them in living with injuries sustained while protecting our freedom. Operation Grow4Vets is a national, nonpartisan organization headquartered in Colorado.

Why Medical Cannabis?
An ever increasing number of medical studies have shown that marijuana is a safe and effective treatment for pain, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) , and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Despite this fact, some people maintain the belief that marijuana is nothing more than a dangerous drug. However, numerous recent polls indicate that well over 80% of all Americans support the use of medical marijuana. Other polls indicate that more than 50% of Americans now support full legalization and almost the same number support banning tobacco products.

Regardless of their personal position on the use marijuana for medical purposes, there is virtually universal agreement that our Veterans deserve to have any and all treatment options available to them. Medical marijuana has allowed thousands of Veterans to either reduce, or completely discontinue the use of dangerous prescription medications.

Any ideas on setting people up with each other? I'm at the loss of finding a Vet in my area that I know would be interested/benefit from some volunteering/donation. Should we try to divide the state up by county or congressional districts to try to connect people locally? Glad, I'm doubting locality is a big issue to you, but I for one will be looking to this convenience.

I don't get out much these days, but I'd be game to help in anyway I can.

I know this is kind of asking a lot of people, but I keep coming back to the idea that, if we could have a confidential list of vets in need, and a trusted member such as yourself to hold it, they could confidentially and securely begin to connect Vets with willing participants.

Are there any members here that maybe interested in try to network with some Vets, do some volunteering. It'd be nice to try to get people connected locally. How can we develop a Vet registry of sorts, to better connect them with caregiver/volunteers?
Already on it Ceph. I'm currently helping out a couple vets in the metro area here. Even hired one to work for me.

I know there are some conflicts with the VA and medical marijuana use. The one guy I'm helping kinda resisted the idea of getting his card when I brought it up. He's worried about the ramifications when he needs to go to the hospital.

Well here comes the show-off! Just kidding Stow! This is great news man, maybe the couple you're working with know others in need, and so forth, and so on down the line. While I do consider myself an advocate to the cause, I'm still a little reserved about it. No one at my day job or really anyone for the matter of fact, are aware of my extracurricular activities, which in turn has made the networking the toughest part...so far.

We're a tough group to nail down brother, especially those of us whom have successfully reintegrate into society. I believe 22 of my brethren lose their lives to suicide each day not because help is not available, but rather an unwillingness to ask for or seek help on our part. The selflessness of character necessary to voluntarily give ones life is in stark contrast to the helplessness felt in needing and reaching out for help. Add that to the fact we only make up about one percent of the population spread across the nation and we have a pretty illusive group. I honestly do not have the answer vet outreach, but I'm definitely willing to seek it out.

I'm not sure how the VA treats MMJ today in general. I haven't experienced VA care since I left active duty long ago, as I've been fortunate enough to carry private insurance since then. Although, I do plan to join a joint UofM/VA venture this summer and look forward experiencing their current outlook on MMJ.
I am a completely disabled veteran and my docs know I use MMJ. No issues there with my benefits or anything I would be willing to explore helping other vets get access. These prices are still too high even though some are coming down.

BTW That is my first scrog. How does it look so fart. I have the screen 10 in above the soil and will try my best to fill up every hole. Moved up from a 3x3 to a 4x8.
You may want to consider a second screen depending on stretch, but I have a feeling you're on top of this. And are you making seeds sir?
